Project Battle competition

On the 20th of April at the Department of Recreational Geography and Tourism of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University held a competition Project Battle, organized by 2nd-year students of the educational program “Restaurants and Hospitality Business” under the guidance of Department Lecturer Yeldar Nuruly.

 

This event was organized within the framework of the discipline “Hospitality Marketing”. The main aim of the event was to form professional competencies of students and consolidate specific practical skills in the field of marketing by preparing their projects, their presentation and defense in front of the audience.

 

The participating teams in the open competition began by introducing themselves through various creative videos and mini-scenes. In the second stage, the teams directly presented their original work to the jury. It should be noted that the projects presented were unique, varied and relevant.

 

Team innovation projects that participated in the event:

  • Moon – A Mini-Theatre for Young Talents. The mission is to give young actors the opportunity to perform on a real stage, thereby gaining experience, and to promote the cultural movement in the country by opening a new format institution for actors and art lovers. Moon.pdf
  • Reunion – A Mobile App for Online Flower Ordering. The mission is to save time and provide convenience for customers and people in the floral business by allowing consumers to design their floral arrangements, choose their preferred florist or florist shop, and order and deliver them online in one mobile app. REUNION.pdf
  • Bonbon Sweet House Online Confectionery for Diabetics. The mission is to offer alternative solutions by breaking the restrictions imposed on people suffering from various diseases, including diabetes, and to promote healthy eating habits in adolescents who have not yet developed a sustainable lifestyle, and to prevent diseases such as diabetes, allergies and overweight. bonbon.pdf
  • Qonaq.Orda Professional Hospitality Training Camp for Children. The mission is to address the shortage of professionals in order to involve the younger generation in the hospitality industry, to develop a hospitality camp using IT technology and thereby actively participate in the creation of an effective education system in the country. Qonaq.Orda.pdf
  • Multifunctional “FlashService” platform for individual and specific requests. The mission is to reduce unemployment in the country and support vulnerable people by providing a platform on which individual customer requests can be fulfilled for a fee. FlashService.pdf
  • Erkin Qalam Animation Studio for Youth. The mission is to unite the past and present of the Kazakh people through domestic animated films, to arouse the public's interest by widely disseminating the national heritage, and to awaken young people's enthusiasm for domestic, rather than foreign, creativity. Erkin Qalam.pdf

 

The participating guests and jury, noting the very high level of preparation of the participating students and the consideration of topical issues, gave their fair assessments, critically analysing them and providing valuable and important recommendations for the further development and promotion of the project.

At the end of the event, the word was given to the jury, who pointed out the need for the social and business ideas presented in the competition not to remain on paper but to be put into practice. Wishing everyone good luck, the teams were awarded diplomas and certificates.
