Opening of the Kazakhstan-China Joint Laboratory for Drug Research

Xinjiang Technical Institute of Physics and Chemistry of the Chinese Academy of Sciences to perform the tasks of the Joint laboratory attracts the potential of the Central Asian center for research and development of medicines of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and together with them expands the activities of the Joint laboratory. Research institutes involved:

- Shanghai Institute of Materia Medica, Chinese Academy of Sciences;

- Dalian Institute of chemistry and physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences;

- Kunmin Botanical Institute, Chinese Academy of Sciences;

- Institute of Physics and Chemistry of Lanzhou, Chinese Academy of Sciences.

The purpose of the Joint laboratory is to create new original and generic drugs in demand in China and Kazakhstan, using the potential of Institutes and world scientific achievements in the development of drugs.

The Kazakhstan-China Joint Laboratory for Drug Research will be engaged in advanced basic research to develop safe and effective phytomedical products for the treatment of common diseases in China and Kazakhstan based on local raw materials and knowledge.

The Laboratory will also work on targeted projects to develop herbal supplements in the local and global market. The Laboratory will make a huge contribution to the formation of research culture and increase the research profile of al-Farabi Kazakh National University and the Xinjiang Physical and Chemical Technical Institute of the Chinese Academy of Sciences.

The opening ceremony of the Laboratory will be held on November 26, 2019 at the faculty of chemistry and chemical technology of the al-Farabi Kazakh National University.
