SPIID laboratory has been certified for the production of chemicals

December 28, 2016 Almaty branch of JSC “National expertise and certification center” issued a certificate number 70/16 on the assessment of measurements state in a laboratory for the production of chemicals for the agrochemical and industry of the Faculty of Chemistry and Chemical Technology of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. This laboratory created with the support of the State program of industrial-innovative development of Kazakhstan. The certificate confirms that the conditions required for the measurement (test) in a fixed area of ​​the laboratory activities.

Competition of research works of young scientists and students - 2017

According to the results of the 1st international competition of young researchers “Eurasian World in the Scientific Search for Youth” organized by the Higher Scientific and Methodical School “NurScience” (Aktobe), third-year PhD student Tairabekova Samal took 1st place, Nuraliev Ravshan became the winner in the nomination “Creative researcher”.

According to the results of the Republican competition of research works of students, held on March 31, 2017 in the direction of “Chemistry” - Zholdas Erasyl took the 1st place, in the specialty “Chemical technology of inorganic substances” (Shymkent) - A.N. Nurgalieva took 1st place, E. Bakhytzhan - 3rd place.

Competition “Student Spring 2017”

March 31, 2017, the University hosted a grand final of the traditional amateur art contest “Student Spring 2017”. Musicals devoted to different countries were shown in the contest titled “The Spring of the Creative World” this year. As a result of the competition, in which students from 15 faculties took part, students of the Faculty of Chemistry and Chemical Technology with the musical about France took the Grand Prix. We congratulate our students and wish them success and further achievements!
                                                                                                                                                

“Chemistry” educational programs have been internationally accredited

 

ASIIN agency’s decision of 24 April 2017 4 educational programs of faculty have

passed international accreditation. Agency certificates confirm the compliance of

education programs with international requirements. The degree programme is

aligned to Level 6 of the European Qualifications Framework for Life-long Learning.

According to the program of bachelor and master programs are valid until 28 April 2018.

Educational programs that have passed international accreditation:

- Chemistry (Bachelor of Natural Science)

 

- Chemistry (Master of Natural Science)

- Chemistry (Bachelor of Pedagogic Science)

Following the results of the 2017 competition head of the Department of Chemistry and Technology of Organic Substances, Natural Compounds and Polymers G.A.Mun became the owner of a state scholarship for scientists who made an outstanding contribution to the development of science. Senior teacher of the Department of Chemical Physics and Material Science E.O.Doszhanov and the teacher of the Department of Analytical, Colloid Chemistry and Technology of Rare Elements N.Kh.Baimatova became holders of scholarships for young scientists.                                                                                                                                 

                                                                                		                                          
 

October 6, 2017 in the JSC “National Center for Scientific and Technical Information”, the ceremony of awarding the winners of the international Springer Nature Awards, established by the international publishing house Springer Nature, was held. The laureate of the award in the nomination “Top of the most published scientists of Kazakhstan in the field of natural sciences” became Professor of the Department of Physical Chemistry, Catalysis and Petrochemistry Zh.K. Kairbekov. In the nomination “Top of the most published scientists of Kazakhstan in the field of technology”, the winner of the award was Professor of the Department of Chemical Physics and Materials Science, General Director of the Institute of Combustion Problems Z.A. Mansurov.

  

 

 

On September 8, 2017, the company “Shell Kazakhstan” and the Association KAZENERGY within the framework of the IX Youth Forum, which was held within the framework of the XI Eurasian Forum KAZENERGY, named the winners of the competition STUDENT ENERGY CHALLENGE. The winner of the competition was the team of al-Farabi KazNU «Synergy», represented by students of the Faculty of Chemistry and Chemical Technology B.Kaidar, D.Argimbayev, Z.Kurbanova, N.Teriukalova. The head of the team is G.T. Smagulova. The team presented a project entitled “Highly efficient solar collectors with a nanocarbon absorbent coating from a carbonized rice husk” and won a prize of 10,000 euros from Shell Kazakhstan.

  

 

 

The grand finale of the competition «Mr & Ms KazNU 2017» hosted at the University in April 29, 2017. At the end of the contest, which was attended by 7 beauties and 7 boys, 4th year student of the Faculty of Chemistry and Chemical Technology Samarkhan Abdugaliev won «Mister KazNU 2017».
