As part of the educational visit under the "Visiting Professor" program of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Faculty of International Relations of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University held lectures and practical classes, PhD, Candidate of Political Sciences, Associate Professor of the School of Communication of the National Research University of the Higher School of Economics (Moscow, Russian Federation) Sokolova Tatiana Dmitrievna.

Sokolova Tatiana Dmitrievna graduated with honors from the Bachelor's and Master's degrees of the Peoples' Friendship University of Russia (special scholarship of the Rector and the Government of Moscow). She has completed internships in France, Ireland, Singapore, etc. Since 2014 – member and permanent participant of conferences and projects of the World Association of Political Science (IPSA), the International Association of Communications (ICA). In 2018, she successfully defended her PhD thesis in the field of political sciences at the Institute of Sociology of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

Sokolova T. D.'s research interests are political processes and technologies, political theory, strategic communications, drivers and barriers of sustainable development, research, quantitative and qualitative methods of international research.

Sokolova T. D. shared her scientific and professional experience with undergraduates and doctoral students of the educational programs "International Relations", "Regional Studies", "World Economy". During the lessons of Sokolova T. D., the students got acquainted with the issues of research methodology and new trends in the development of scientific schools in the field of international relations and world politics. Special attention was paid to practical examples of preparing publications for scientific journals with Scopus and Web of Science databases with an analysis of disadvantages and advantages. Along with this, promising topics of future joint publications were discussed.
