The international conference "Ecological Genetics and Public Health: Achievements and Prospects" dedicated to the 80^th anniversary of the birth of the Honored Worker of Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of the Higher School, Doctor of Biological Sciences, Professor Bigaliev Aitkazi Bigalievich was held at the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. The conference was held in a hybrid format.

In the plenary part of the conference, the Dean of the Faculty of Biology and Biotechnology Academician Zayadan Bolatkhan read out congratulations on behalf of the Chairman of the Board – Rector of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University Tuimebayev Zhanseit Kanseituly.

Tamara Shalakhmetova, Professor of the Faculty of Biology and Biotechnology of KazNU, Doctor of Biological Sciences, spoke at the event, emphasizing the works and human qualities of an outstanding scientist.

The conference was attended by heads of research institutes of the Science Committee of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, foreign scientists, government and public figures, professors of KazNU and other higher educational institutions, researchers, doctoral students, undergraduates and young students.
