I’m Aidana Danilyeva. 4th year student of Al-Farabi National University. More precisely, I study Japanese translation at the Faculty of Oriental Studies. This year I got the opportunity to study on academic mobility at Kanazawa University in Japan. I was enrolled in the scholarship program of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan, they allocated funds for the flight and living expenses.

My first impression of Japan is very different from what I expected. After all, it is better to feel the atmosphere, environment, culture and mentality than to read articles on the Internet. What I like about Japan is how attentive they are to the world around them and how respectful people are. It was very difficult to get used to after arrival, so sometimes I had to ask the locals for things. To my surprise, the Japanese try to understand and help, even if they do not know the answer to the question. In general, they will not leave you without help. In various articles at least once you can find that the Japanese are a closed people. Yes, maybe it really is. But the people I met are responsive and kind. I was also surprised by how everything is arranged for the convenience and comfort of a person. Currently at Kanazawa University, I'm trying to fit in and make more friends. I think that in the future I will gain more experience in Japan.

I have the opportunity to participate in academic mobility thanks to my studies at Al-Farabi University. Therefore, I am grateful for this opportunity.
