Friday 12 March 2021 the eighth online seminar was held with the participation of the director of the research center "Written monuments and spiritual heritage" acting Assoc. prof. Zubaida Shadkam, on the topic "Features of the use of Persian words in medieval Turkic written monuments", organized by the Department of Turksoy and the research center "Written monuments and spiritual heritage" of the Faculty of Oriental Studies of KazNU named after al-Farabi, moderated by the teacher Kutlugjon Sultanbek.

The online seminar was attended by the teaching staff, undergraduates and doctoral students, as well as students and scientists of foreign universities. In this regard, questions were raised about the mistakes made in the translation of our cultural heritage, written in the Arabic alphabet, including the features of the translation of borrowed words from the Persian language. It was also applied that the Turkic peoples, who used the Arabic alphabet since the adoption of Islam, used it from the time of the Karakhanids to the 20th century, and all these works were introduced into scientific circulation. In conclusion, the problem of the low level of expression and acceptance of criticism of scientific works among scientists of Kazakhstan and the peoples of Asia was raised and the need to correct errors in published works. At the end of the seminar, the head of the Department of Turksoy PhD U. T. Kydyrbaeva expressed gratitude on behalf of the faculty.
