On October 9, 2019, an event dedicated to the Day of the State Language of the Republic of Tajikistan, organized by the Iranian Studies Department of the Department of the Middle East and South Asia and the Consulate General of the Republic of Tajikistan, was held at the center of the Tajik Language and Culture at the Faculty of Oriental Studies. The event was attended by the Consul General of the Republic of Tajikistan Bahodur Nazir, dean of the faculty Paltore Yktiyar, head of the department P.M. Suleimenov, deputy chairman of the Tajik-Kazakh congress “Somoniyon” Inoyat Valiev, entrepreneur Vakhobova Nasiba, Tajik students of KazNU, as well as teachers and students of the Middle East and South Asia department. During the event, Tajik students made a presentation on the official status of the Tajik language, and also Iranian students read poems of Persian-Tajik classical poets Omar Khayyam, Saadi and Sepehri. During the event, plans for joint scientific and cultural events were discussed by the participants.

On October 4, 2019, the dean of the Faculty of Oriental Studies, Paltore Yktiyar Moldatoreuly, held a meeting with foreign students of our faculty. The meeting was attended by the deputy dean of the faculty of scientific and innovative activities and international cooperation, the chairman of the Council of Young Scientists, deputy heads of departments of scientific and innovative activities and international cooperation. First of all, the dean congratulated the students on the beginning of the new academic year and personally met with each of them. Among foreign students were representatives of the People's Republic of China, the Republic of Uzbekistan, the United Arab Emirates and the Kingdom of Jordan. The Dean acquainted the students with the country order for foreign citizens and the university rules regarding the educational process, and also noted that in case of any problems, the university and the faculty are ready to support and closely cooperate with foreign students. During the meeting, students expressed their gratitude to the faculty and university managment for their support.

Senior Lecturer Department of the Far East A. Nurelova won a grant from the Japan Foundation.

The QS World Wide International Forum on "Development of Human Accomodation and High Technology Harmony" has started in KazNU. The conference was attended by more than 130 scientists and leading experts and design institutes and other organizations from USA, South Korea, Germany, Finland, Canada, Denmark, Russia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan.

The World International Forum was attended by Professor Dr. Sibel Susan from Ankara University and Doctor of Philosophy Ertan Hekman. Students of TURKSOY Department of Oriental Studies Faculty, asked their questions about further study and student research which students of KazNU can have in their university. Scientists have given comprehensive answers to students' current questions. The organizers thanked the guests at the end of the forum.

September 30, 2019 at the Department of Middle East and South Asia, Faculty of Oriental Studies, the grand opening of the Center for Tajik Language and Culture took place.

On September 13, 2019, at 12.00 at 546 classroom in the framework of the annual "Language Day" at the department of Turksoy there was held the intellectual game "I am Polyglot!" by the teachers of Turksoy Department of the Faculty of Oriental Studies. The aim of our game was to test students' knowledge of Kazakh, Russian and English languages, as well as get acquainted closer with each other.

The language festival is annually celebrated in Kazakhstan. At the Department of Oriental Studies at the Department of Turksoi was held a roundtable discussion on the theme «Language is the spiritual base of a nation», organized by members of the Scientific and Intellectual Club "Kutty Bilik". The purpose of the roundtable was to explain the President's Address to the people of Kazakhstan, to discuss the ways of achieving the goals set by the Head of the State, to promote the status and meaning, as well as to increase interest in studying Turkic languages.  Head of the Department PhD Umit Tursynbaikyzy congratulated the audience on the holiday. The head of the lexicology department of the A.Baitursynov Institute of Linguistics, Ph.D., prof. Zhamal Mankeeva Aitkalievna, attended the round table. Scientist Zhamal Aitkalievna shared her impressions of the state language status among the students. She answered students' various questions. From the history of polyglots to language, interesting facts were given. In connection with the Language Day, 2-year student Begimay Mukhamedzhan reads the poem of T.Moldagaliyev. At the end of the event, Professor Jamal Mankeeva presented her books for students with autographs. The event was very impressive.

10.09.2019 was a seminar named "Methods and rules in writing of scientific works"  of professor of the Hacettepe University (Ankara, Turkey) Nurettin Demir at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, faculty of Oriental studies, department of TÜRKSOY. Master students and doctoral candidates of department took part at a seminar . During the seminar theoretical and practical approaches to modern interactive methods of training and scientific achievements and also a practical training of experts with the best practices in the field were presented. At the same time topical issues and innovations in the field of turkology were discussed with students. Mister Nurettin Demir shared the experience with students on the basis of his researches. In particular, the problems arising during research, goals and tasks and also methods of a right choice of the venue of a research. After completion of a seminar the staff of department for continuation of further effective cooperation organized a memorable photoshoot.

September 29, 2019 in the KazNU. Named Al-Farabi at the faculty of Oriental studies held a discussion table among students and teachers of the Indian branch of the Department of Middle East and South Asia on "Language - the basis of independence, the key to the future". This event was dedicated to the Day of Languages on September 22. The event was attended by Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Oriental Studies for Educational and Educational Work Sh.E.Kanafyeva. During the event the students discussed a lots of topical problems facing the society, offered ways to solve them. Among the topics raised are the attitude of students towards the 3rd multifaceted language policy, the Strategy "Kazakhstan-2050," barriers for the Russian language in the Kazakh language, the level and application of the state language in society, the transition from Cyrillic to Latin alphabet. In turn, students shared their ideas that would be necessary to expand the scope of the native language in society. After the discussion table, the event continued with a concert programm. Students in courses 1 and 2 read poems in Hindi and Kazakh languages, sang songs in Hindi and played dombra. Such events contribute to the formation of student views on the problems of modern society, the increase of mobility in the way of their solution and the education of love for the native language.
