The Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Berik Aryn, Rector of Al-Farabi KazNU Galym Mutanov and Rector of KazNAU Tlektes Espolov have met with the OIC Deputy Secretary General Ahmed Ssenyomo and Chief Director of the Department of Science and Technology Irfan Shaukat at the headquarters of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in Jeddah. At the meeting, issues of developing partnerships and implementing Kazakhstan's initiatives in the field of education, science and technology were discussed.

An award ceremony for the winners of Scopus Award Kazakhstan – 2019 was held on December 12, 2019, set up by Elsevier – one of the biggest publishing and analytics company specializing in scientific content. The prize is awarded annually to the most cited and published scientist, basing on Scopus international database.

The UN Department of Global Communications in Kazakhstan and Al-Farabi Kazakh National University in Almaty jointly organized the Global Migration Film Festival at KazNU based on Gregoire Gosset’s film “One-way ticket” dedicated to International Migrant Day on December 18th.

A roundtable discussion «Development of cooperation between universities in Germany and Kazakhstan in the field of geodesy and geoinformatics» was held at Al-Farabi KazNU, during which participants exchanged experience in researching relevant scientific problems.

Al-Farabi KazNU opened the branches of the Department of Publishing, Editorial and Design Art of the Journalism Faculty in the «Kazakh Encyclopediasi» Publishing House and the National Book Chamber.

December 4^th to 6^th 2019, in Lima (Peru) an international conference on aquatic culture was held. In the work of conference have participated representatives of 17 countries, including two representatives of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, who read reports on traditional and modern water use.

Students of KazNU took part and won prizes in the nationwide competition «XXI-Gasyrdagy Alashtin Ak Zholy», organized by the «Ak Zhol» party.

Being recognized as the best University of Islamic world Al-Farabi KazNU is actively expanding its partnership with leading universities in Saudi Arabia and opening new areas of cooperation.

Teachers of the Department of Physical Culture and Sports of Al-Farabi KazNU organized a meeting with students of the «Kairat» Football Academy with the aim of career guidance for young players.
