Bakiyev Serik Samigullovich is PhD-student of the Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics received a diploma of the first degree for participation in the project "Best Young Scientists - 2023"! This diploma is awarded to scientists on the basis of their merits to domestic science.

Bakiyev Serik began his scientific career with the study of sturgeon embryogenesis, and Sergaliev Nurlan Khabibullovich is one of the country's leading specialists in ichthyology  became his researcher leader. Entering the magistracy of the  Zhangir KhanWest Kazakhstan Agrarian Technical University, Serik was engaged in the genetic certification of sturgeons and monitored the ichthyofauna of the region's water bodies.

In 2019, he joined the research group of an employee of the Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics, Academician Bisenbaev Amangeldy Kuanbaevich and since then has been working on the creation of new antibacterial drugs based on bacteriophage endolysins for the treatment of valuable commercial fish species.
Serik Bakiyev has 48 scientific publications, 2 patents of the Republic of Kazakhstan, 2 monographs and 3 articles in foreign scientific journals.
