Lovinskaya Anna Vladimirovna, PhD, Senior Lecturer of the Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics, received the title of "Best University Teacher" in 2022.The competition held by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan for obtaining such a title is held annually in order to increase the prestige of the teaching profession and encourage them to further professional development. This year, 775 applicants participated, and 150 teachers from 43 Kazakh universities became the winners. The award ceremony took place in Astana on February 24, 2023.

Lovinskaya Anna Vladimirovna is a specialist in the field of cytogenetics and induced mutagenesis. Starting as a student to study the effect of rocket fuel components on natural rodent populations, she was able to prove the mutagenic and genotoxic activity of asymmetric dimethylhydrazine and its derivative nitrosodimethylamine, and in 2016 she defended her doctoral dissertation on this topic.
Since 2017, undergraduate and graduate students have the opportunity to listen to lectures by Anna Vladimirovna in such disciplines as biostatistics, medical genetics, and human and animal cytogenetics. To help students, she co-authored textbooks on biostatistics and cytogenetics in Russian, Kazakh and English. For 9 years, Anna Vladimirovna underwent internships at the N.I. Vavilov Institute of General Genetics, where, under the guidance of Professor Serikbay Abileva, she mastered modern methods for determining the genotoxicity of chemical compounds, which she now teaches students. Lovinskaya Anna Vladimirovna is also currently the Deputy head of the Department for educational and methodological work.

For 11 years of scientific work, Anna Vladimirovna has gone from a laboratory assistant to a senior researcher who manages her own projects - now she is studying the mutagenicity of surface waters of reservoirs in the Almaty region and searching for effective protectors of toxic and genotoxic effects. In 2017, Anna Vladimirovna became the winner of the competition "The Best Young Scientist of Al-Farabi KazNU", and in 2019 her services to domestic science were noted at the state level in the form of a scholarship for talented young scientists established by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Anna Vladimirovna has publications in top scientific journals devoted to the problems of genetics, ecology and cytology, participation in conferences, three patents and three copyright certificates.

Congratulations on getting the title of "Best University Teacher"!
