On April 28, 2020, an open meeting was held at the Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics of the Faculty of Biology and Biotechnology of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University under the chairmanship of the head of the Department, Zh.K.Zhunusbaeva. The meeting was held on the Microsoft teams platform. The meeting was attended by all the curators-advisors of the department and students of 1-4 courses and master's students of the Russian and Kazakh departments of the specialities "Genetics", "Biology", and "Biotechnology", more than 200 people. The issue of passing the summer session using distance learning technologies was discussed at the meeting.
At the meeting, it was brought to the students that all exams of this year's summer session will be held by the academic calendar, despite the introduction of mass quarantine measures in connection with the coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19), which shocked the whole world. They were familiarised with the schedule of final exams, which reflects that final control exams for students and undergraduates will be held from May 11 to May 24, for senior bachelor courses from May 25 to June 14, final certification and defence of diploma projects from July 8 to July 12.
The participants of the online conference were thoroughly acquainted with the rules of admission for final exams used by distance learning platforms such as MOODLE (dl.kaznu.kz ), Open KazNU (open.kaznu.kz ), Open Master Class (omc.moocs.kz ), the National Open Education Platform of Kazakhstan (moocs.kz ). The course of acceptance of traditional written exams, written projects, test forms in the systems "Okulyk", "Moodle", "Univer", oral exams and dissertation defence on the platforms Zoom, Microsoft teams, Google Meet, Cisko WebEx, etc. was explained and demonstrated.
During the meeting, answers were given to all the questions of teachers and students.
