From September 23 to 24, 2023, the annual “Golden Autumn” rally took place near the Ile River in Tamgaly Tas (https://turclub.kz/zolotaya-osen-2023). The event was held in three stages. As part of the event, mini competitions were also held: presentation, talent show, tent assembly for a while and others. After completing each stage, the teams' total scores were summed up and prizes were revealed. The traditional tourist rally “Golden Autumn” was held at a high level; I was pleased with the large number of teams and their preparation. All teams were divided into two age groups: adults and juniors. Participants had to complete three distances for which the final assessment was carried out: orienteering, a competitive program, and a sports distance of walking tourism from different stages. This distance was second class, which means the winners and runners-up fulfilled the standard for second class in sports tourism!

Two teams from NJSC Al-Farabi Kazakh National University (Department of Recreational Geography and Tourism, Faculty of Geography and Environmental Management) took part in the event:

On September 24, 2023, the teams were awarded. Based on the results of all stages, our university teams took prizes:• “Tourism Power” team – 2nd place;• team “ZhasTur” – 3rd place.

Members of our team have wonderful memories from participating in the tourist gathering, because it is, first of all, a professional gathering of tourists and active people of different levels. Important results of participation in the event are the exchange of experiences and impressions from the tasks that the teams completed, new acquaintances and initiation into sports tourists. During the tourist rally, participants were able to improve their skills in overcoming obstacles, water slalom, mountain climbing, traverse, descent, suspended and horizontal crossing, pendulum, overcoming bumps, and the ability to tie knots. A video and photo competition was held on hiking stories, culinary tourism, singing a tourist song, etc. Participants were able to immerse themselves in the world of active tourism. The variety of stages allowed each participant to choose the most interesting and suitable activities. As part of the “Golden Autumn” rally, it was possible to get acquainted with the sights of the Almaty region: Tamgaly Tas petroglyphs and beautiful landscapes.
