 On February 24, a regular meeting of students for girls and boys was held in the House of Students No. 1 with the curators of faculties and departments. Preliminary remarks were made at the meeting in order to prevent an unpleasant incident with the restoration of order.They were also familiarized with the news taking place at the university and at the faculty.The position of the kaznu student and the Code of Honor of the Kaznu student were repeated once again.They reported on the cleanliness and order of the hostel.The opinions and suggestions of the students were listened to.

The awarding ceremony of the best university teachers was held in Astana. 27 teachers of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University were also recognized as the best in the republican competition out of 775 applicants. The winning 150 teachers were awarded 6 million tenge. The certificates were presented by the Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan Sayasat Nurbek.The teachers of our department who received the award are congratulated by the staff of the department and wish creative success in the field of education and science.

 Dean of the Faculty of Physics and Technology Beisen Nurzada Abdibekovna together with students and curators-advisors of each group held an extended curatorial hour.The purpose of the curatorial hour is to familiarize our students with the position of a kaznu student and the code of honor of a kaznu student. In addition, we strive to lead a healthy lifestyle, improve the level of our cultural, moral and personal development, actively participate in the socio-cultural, scientific and sports life of the university. The main tasks of the general curator-consultant are to teach students various forms of moral and material incentives for the development of educational programs, active participation in cultural events, scientific works. Helping students in personal growth by motivating them.The curators of the faculty explained to the students that they must comply with the requirements of the Honor Code, internal regulations, dormitory rules and other regulations of the university. Department of Plasma Physics, Nanotechnology and Computer Physics of the Faculty of Physics and Technology Al-Farabi KazNU organized the international project ENTER (EngineeriNg educaTors pEdagogical tRaining 598506-EPP-1-2018-1-PT-EPPKA2-CBHE-JP) within the framework of the ERASMUS + program during 15.11.2018 -14.11.2022.

ENTER aims at creating a novel multicultural and international approach for formal post-graduate professional and pedagogical education for engineering educators. Also, this project is a consortium, which includes 13 organizations - universities and associations - from five countries (Portugal, Slovakia, Estonia, Kazakhstan and Russia).

The dean of the faculty prof. Beisen N.A. presented certificates of international standard to educators, who successfully completed the IPET-2 program organized under this project. Congratulations to all educators who took an active part in the ENTER project and wish the creative success!

Kaznu took 1st place in the rating "QS Asia University Rankings 2023: Central Asia " and was recognized as the first university in Central Asia.We sincerely congratulate our university on another victory.

Students of OP “Electric Power Industry” won prizes at the Republican Olympiad in physics and mathematics among future power engineers

From December 7 to December 9, 2022, the Republican Olympiad in Physics and Mathematics among future power engineers was held on the basis of the Gumarbek Daukeev Almaty University of Energy and Communications together with the Samruk-Energo Joint Stock Company.

In this Olympiad, students of the 3rd year of the educational program “Electric Power Industry” Zhasbolat Nurtore took the 2nd prize and Adina Koshmaganbetova took the 3rd prize. Congratulations to our students and wish them further success!

In order to increase the level of spiritual and moral culture of students and popularize our national values, undergraduates of the 7m01501-Physics curriculum, together with the head of the group, K. M. Turekhanova, conducted an essay on the life of students and lovers by the famous writer Azilkhan Nurshaikov “love, merry years - he took with him" at the Kazakh State Academic Theater for Children and Youth named after Gabit Musrepov on 20.11.2022. a spiritual meal. The audience was impressed by the impeccable pure love and devotion of the main characters Yerbol and Pollock to their friends, and, having felt a diverse range of emotions in the performance, was surprised at how two and a half hours had passed. Teachers and students of the Department of FPNiKF on the day of university-wide cleanliness

Deputy of the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Academician Bakytzhan Zhumagulov met with the teaching staff, doctoral students and undergraduates at the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. The Guest of honor was introduced by the Chairman of the Board – Rector of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University Zhanseit Tuimebayev, focusing on the main stages of his life and professional path.

Bakytzhan Zhumagulov is an alumnus of KazNU, who graduated from the Faculty of Mechanics and Applied Mathematics in 1979. He began his career with scientific and teaching activities, starting from the position of assistant, professor, Head of the department to the rector. Today he is a Doctor of Technical Sciences and academician of the following institutions: National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the International Engineering Academy, National Engineering Academy of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

"A well-known individual who made a great contribution to the formation of the country's independence is still connected with his native university. Such meetings, which have become traditional at our university, are vastly important for our youth" the rector noted.

Academician Bakytzhan Zhumagulov, in turn, recalled with nostalgia the years of study and work at the university. He thanked KazNU and its professors for all the achievements on the path of life. "Alma mater gave us a great start in life. Here, thanks to our teachers, we took the first step. I am always grateful to the university," Bakytzhan Tursynovich stated.  He spoke about the adopted legislative documents and the work done to support domestic universities. The academician shared his opinion about the upcoming tasks that Kazakhstani universities face nowadays.

Chairman of the Board – Rector of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University Zhanseit Tuimebayev expressed gratitude to the heads of the ministries of both countries and colleagues from MEPhI and KazNU for the implementation of an educational project. “The establishment of the branch will give a new impetus to the development of nuclear energy in the country, providing industry with qualified personnel with the major in the "Nuclear Energy and Technology" and "Computer Science and Computer Engineering". We are certain that the graduates of the branch will make a significant contribution to the development of the strategic industry of our country. The award has been presented as part of the Contest of the Committee of Science of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and is held annually to encourage young scientists, who have made a significant contribution to the development of science and technology. 

The award winners included following post-doctorates: S.A. Orazbayev, E.A. Ussenov, PhD D.G. Batryshev, head of Laboratory of Engineering E. Erlanuly, Senior Lecturer of the Department of Plasma physics, nanotechnology and computer physics PhD A.U. Utegenov. 

The award was given for the work titled “Development of scientific foundations for obtaining nanostructured materials based on modern plasma technologies for practical applications”. 

The work aims to develop a scientific framework for the synthesis of nanostructured materials based on modern plasma technologies, to study the properties of plasma, to analyze morphological and structural characteristics manufactured nanomaterials and prospects for their application. 

Practical significance of the work is that the results of nanostructured materials synthesized within the plasma environment will provide the scientific basis for new effective methods and technologies for industrial applications. 

More than 200 scientific articles have been published as a result of the work, of which more than 40 articles were in high impact journals, confirming the relevance of the studies carried out at the international level, 4 patents of the Republic of Kazakhstan were received. 

Recognition of scientific achievements of Al-Farabi KazNU young scientists, as well as them getting a Kunaev award represent a reaffirmation of the university’s leadership in both Kazakhstan's research activities and training of prominent young scholars.

The international project EngineeriNg educaTors pEdagogical tRaining / ENTER, co-funded by the Erasmus + program of the European Union, is aimed at creating and developing an international platform for multilevel professional training / retraining of engineering teachers working in higher educational institutions. Online Meeting of ENTER Consortium (April 22-23, 2020) 

The rather complicated epidemiological situation in the world caused by the coronavirus lockdown, restrictions on the events organization, cancelation of flights and the closure of borders between countries, has a significant impact on international activities of al-Farabi Kazakh National University, including the implementation of projects under the Erasmus + program. Despite the difficulties, the coordinator and consortium of the ENTER project decided to continue working on the implementation of the project objectives, adapting the approaches and format of work.

The next project meeting was scheduled as an onsite event to be held in Bratislava in April 2020 at the DTI University (Slovakia).

Taking into consideration the on-site event could not be realized anymore due to the quarantine measures in Europe, Russia, and Kazakhstan, the project consortium decided to adjust the agenda of planned events and not cancel the meeting, but to conduct it completely on-line.

The main topic of the forthcoming event is a discussion of the syllabus of the developing network training program iPET for engineering educators. All participants of the online meeting will have an opportunity to join the discussion, make their questions and give recommendations on improving the developed syllabus of the iPET program.

Al-Farabi Kazakh National University at this meeting is represented by Nurgalieva K.E., Turekhanova K.M., Balgymbayeva Z., TanassogloE., Mukhamedryskyzy M., who are actively participated in this online meeting.

From September 18 to September 21, 2019 in the library of Al-Farabi KazNU held seminars within the framework of the Erasmus + international project 598506-EPP-1-2018-1-PT-EPPKA2-CBHE-JP - Engineering Educators Pedagogical Training - Pedagogical training for teachers of engineering disciplines (ENTER).
The Team of Al-Farabi KazNU received guests - participants of the ENTER consortium – from Portugal (Instituto Politecnico Do Porto), Estonia (Tallinn University Of Technology), Slovakia (Dubnicky Technologicky Institut V Dubnicki Nad Vahom), Russian Federation (National Research Tomsk Polytechnic University, Kazan National Research Technological University, Tambov State Technical University, Don State Technical University, Association For Engineering Education Of Russia, Vyatka State University, Agency Of Educational Strategies And Initiatives Bologna Club) and Kazakhstan (Academician E. A. Buketov Karaganda State University, Kazakhstan Association Of Engineering Education). The workshops was on ENTER QMS and procedures and iPET course development.
The project starts at 2018 and will last until 2021. ENTER aims at creating a novel multicultural and international approach for formal post-graduate professional and pedagogical education for engineering educators. Furthermore, it is focused on low cost and convenience, thus strongly based on e-learning technologies, whenever feasible, and designed with the objective of being internationally recognized and accredited. The actual design is to one of the outputs of the project, but we foresee 3 educational programs with different content and duration (names are tentative): - iPET-1 Short-focused (e.g. 2 ECTS) – “Qualification Development” Certificate; - iPET-2 Professional Retraining (e.g. 8 ECTS) – Diploma ‘’Higher Education Teacher”; - iPET-3 International recognized (e.g. 20 ECTS) – a full programme leading to international accreditation as “Engineering Educator”.
