A new book has been added to the portfolio of the Department of publishing, editorial and design art! The collectives met with the author of the album-Book «Turan romanticism» of Professor, designer Zhanarbek Beristenov and got acquainted with the works of famous designers-artists of the world.

On February 16, the famous poet and writer Fatima Zaburaevna presented her book at our university. Guests from different regions came and congratulated our aunt. The presentation included both singing and dancing. This evening gave the students a great mood. He even received books signed by Mrs. Zabura as a gift.

An open day was organized at the Faculty of Journalism, where students got acquainted with educational programs related to the specialties of publishing, design, journalism, new media, communication. After listening to the advice of faculty professors and practitioners, master classes, applicants were able to ask questions about their chosen profession and get the appropriate answers. In addition, during the UNT, the mechanisms for choosing creative professions were discussed in detail. At the end of the event, the applicants got acquainted with the educational and production base of the faculty.

On February 14, a wonderful meeting was held in our department. The famous TV journalist-publicist Arai Sakharieva shared her experience with the students. The master class aroused the interest of the students and was successful.

Senior Lecturer of the Department of Publishing, Editorial and Design Art Danaeva Nurlyaiym  within the discipline "Processing of Audio and Video Materials".  Alisher Temenov, a master of words coach, was invited to a master class in which 3rd year students of the specialty "Design" learned how to prevent difficulties and interference during the recording of their own audiobooks, voiced by them.  He helped students to master the techniques before voicing audiobooks, to do various articulation and diaphragm exercises.

The head of the Department of Publishing, Editorial and Design Art, Doctor of Philology, Professor Ramazan Aigul Amirgalikyzy says that the demand for a qualified publisher and an experienced designer is very high. First, she told about the history of the department, as well as about graduates whose names are known in the country, which is an example for students.

Being on the list of international and national ratings is a requirement of modernity. In turn, she shared her plans for cooperation with other countries.

The head of the department noted that recently the tendency to attract professionally experienced specialists working in production to teaching has been yielding results.

In 2022, ZH. T. Beristenov, PhD, Professor of the Department of Publishing and Design Art, released the monograph album "Turan Romanticism".

According to the results of the online exhibition, invited to the 30th anniversary of the country's independence, the album, which united the works of 252 best artists from 31 countries of Eurasia, was released in 3 languages (Kazakh, English, Turkish). Each volume consists of 400 pages. In 2 volumes, modern style trends are grouped by art criticism expertise.

On November 11, Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, Faculty of Journalism, Department of "publishing, editorial and design art" held a master class on the topic "National Book business: competitiveness" with Raisa Sairan, founder of the publishing house "Steppe&World Publishing" and the literary agency "Alghayat". During the meeting, Raisa told the students about the intricacies of the publishing business, about the process of acquiring copyright in the translation of each book before its publication in the Kazakh language, the benefits of reading in the Kazakh language.
