The students of the Department actively take part at the international student’s international conferences and the various gatherings with publishing and journalistic proposals.

In order to increase the efficiency of the practical training of the students the Department annually holds the contest among practical course students.

In order to gain the education in connection with the demands of the current job market the Department hosts meetings and roundtable discussions, master classes with outstanding journalists and publishers.

Together with the national media outlets and the Almaty City Administration, the Department annually organizes the national contest “Editor and publisher of future” among the last year students of high schools and colleges. The exhibitions of printing products and master classes with the professionals are organized for the participants of this contest.
