In March of this year teachers of our department Amirbekova U.A. and Tashkenbayeva B.T. organized for us an online lecture on the topic "science as a profession and vocation." The lecturer was PhD, Associate Professor of the Department of the Far East - Akhapov Yerlan Abdievich. He shared his experience, and told how to correctly formulate scientific works, dissertations and research papers.
On March 5, 2021, within the framework of the social and innovative project "Healthy Lifestyle", an online meeting was held among students of 2-3 courses of the Department of the Far East of the Faculty of Oriental Studies with the participation of a pulmonologist, master of health management, editor of the KNF Yernazarova Aizhan Azretovna on the topic "COVID - 19 : Application of the Clinical Protocol for the Diagnosis and Treatment of Coronavirus Infections COVID - 19 ". The online meeting was organized by the advisers of Amirbekova U.A. and Tashkenbaeva B.Zh.
On March 4, 2021, under the guidance of the curator-adviser of the 2nd course of the Japanese Studies Department, Tazabekova G.B. an online conference was organized on the topic "30 years of Independence of Kazakhstan". The purpose of the event is to form students' patriotism, citizenship, interethnic tolerance, cognitive interest in the history of the country, fostering a sense of responsibility towards their homeland. The main material used for the online conference was the article "Independence Above All" by the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassymzhomart Tokayev, which was published on January 5, 2021 on the official website of Egemen Qazaqstan.
On February 18, 2021, at the initiative of the Department of the Far East of KazNU, a meeting of 2nd year students dedicated to the topic "100 books I read" was held. Students were able to share impressions after reading their favorite books. The main task of this meeting was to give students the opportunity to share their opinions, find new things for themselves and discuss important topics that arise in literature. Due to the outbreak of COVID -19, students are forced to study online. It affected their regular life leading to being busier, but even so, they find time to familiarize themselves with the books of different nations.
Choosing a future profession is a very important and responsible step in the life of every person. How to choose a profession in general? Today, when choosing a profession, young people study only those professions that are in demand and highly paid. Is it really right? When choosing a specialty, it is necessary to take into account two important factors. In the first place, it is better to consider the type of profession in which he can succeed, and in the second, to choose a profession that he really likes. After all, a person achieves success only in that sphere, which he likes in real life. Therefore, when choosing a profession, a person should first of all determine their abilities and interests. It is also important to get complete information about universities, which provide training in the desired specialty. Therefore, the department of the Far East of the Kazakh National University named after al-Farabi annually organizes various meetings with graduates of the school for the whole of Kazakhstan to conduct career guidance. February 12, 2020 Curator-Advisor of the Department of Far East G.B. Tazabekova conducted an online conference with 2nd year students of the Department of Japanese Studies and graduates of the school of Zhambyl region of Zhualin district. The event was organized by the head of the education department of Zhambyl region, Zhualy district Turmakhanbetova Nazilya Madibekovna. The main purpose of the online conference is to help students to make a conscious choice of profession, to provide professional support in the process of choosing a profile of training and areas of activity and to expand their knowledge about the future profession. During the online meeting, the teacher of KazNU Tazabekova G.B. and 2nd year students provided detailed information about the faculties of the university, the educational process, the types of specialties that can be assigned to the faculty of Oriental Studies. Students showed their presentations to students, told in detail about the interesting student life in KazNU and presented photographs from personal archives. In the final part of the conference, students showed interest in the online meeting, asking questions to teachers and students of the university.
On February 4, 2021 at 13:00 on the ZOOM online platform under the guidance of 1st year advisor Kim E.V., a Leadership lecture on the topic "Activities of a Korean language translator during the COVID-19 pandemic" was held with Barbosynova Nazerke, which is a graduate of 2018 KazNU named after Al-Farabi. The meeting was held with the participation of 1-4 year students of the Department of Korean Studies of the Department of the Far East. Barbosynova Nazerke received a bachelor's degree in Translation Studies in 2016 and received a master's degree in the same major in 2018 and successfully defended her thesis. She has extensive experience in translation, research and work abroad. She twice went to study in Korea twice, and also worked for 10 months in Poland for an international Korean company. Nazerke shared her experience and gave advices on learning the Korean language, talked about working as a translator, about the demand for this profession not only in Kazakhstan, but also abroad, experience of job searching, about leisure, and also shared about her future plans.

Therefore, at the Department of the Far East of the Kazakh National University named after al-Farabi, vocational guidance work is annually carried out with graduates of schools and gymnasiums in Almaty and other cities of Kazakhstan. On February 3, 2020, under the leadership of curator-adviser Tazabekova G.B. an online meeting was organized for 2nd year students of the Japanese Studies Department with graduates of the secondary school named after Abai Kunanbayev in the city of Saran, Karaganda region. The school director, Zhakulaev Adil Muratuly and the deputy director for educational work, Beisen Dauren Beisenuly, assisted in carrying out this event. The purpose of the online meeting is to provide vocational guidance to schoolchildren so that they can make an informed choice of profession and increase their competence in career planning. Curator-adviser Tazabekova G.B. and 2nd year students demonstrated their presentations, spoke in detail about studying within the walls of the university, specialties that can be mastered at the faculty and employment opportunities. Also, students shared information with schoolchildren about an interesting and rich student life at KazNU and showed various photographs from their personal archive.
On February 4, 2021, on the ZOOM online platform, under the guidance of 1st year advisor Kim E., a Leadership lecture will be held on the topic "Working of a Korean language interpreters during the COVID-19 pandemic" with Barbosynova Nazerke, which is a graduate of 2018 from KazNU named after Al-Farabi. Students of the Department of Korean Studies of the Department of the Far East will take part in it.
