The congress participants agreed that the level of chemical science in Kazakhstan is increasing every year, as evidenced by the increase in the number of publications of the results of fundamental research in prestigious international scientific journals, as well as the conversion of the results of applied R&D into production.
Within the framework of the congress, training seminars on analytical chemistry were held for representatives of the manufacturing sector, as well as an international Olympiad in electrochemical materials science. At the breakout sessions, reports were presented in such areas as "Modern approaches to the processing of mineral and technogenic raw materials", "Fundamental and applied materials science", "Organic synthesis, processing of plant and hydrocarbon raw materials", "Trends in modern chemical education", "Modern chemical analysis in industry and ecology", as well as "Development of food production technology in Kazakhstan".
Having heard and discussed the reports and speeches made at the plenary and breakout sessions, the congress participants noted the significant potential for the further development of chemical science and chemical education in the country. Based on the results of the work of the congress, the following practical collegial decisions and recommendations were adopted:
1. The Committee of Science of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan, NPP "Atameken" and the National Welfare Fund "Samruk-Kazyna" - to develop a financing mechanism at the expense of the accumulated fund of financial contributions from subsoil users and to organize a separate competition for Sectoral Scientific and Technical Programs in agreement with the RPA "NAS RK", "KazNAEN", "National Engineering Academy", "B.A. Beremzhanov Kazakhstan Chemical Society" and other professional public associations to improve the efficiency of the implementation of the country's scientific and technical policy;
2. JSC "Science Fund" - to develop a mechanism for the effective participation of scientific organizations in solving technological problems of the National companies that are part of the NWF "Samruk-Kazyna";
3. RPO “B.A. Beremzhanov Kazakhstan Chemical Society"- to set up regional branches, as well as to establish the amount of organizational fees for legal entities and individuals;
4. To the management of RPO “B.A. Beremzhanov Kazakhstan Chemical Society"- to organize work on the development of draft proposals for inclusion in the current professional standards and sectoral qualifications framework;
5. MES RK - to include the discipline "Chemistry" in the register of compulsory disciplines of school education;
6. Authorized government agencies - to develop an effective mechanism for attracting strong applicants to educational programs in chemistry and chemical engineering. The mechanism should include incentive measures;
7. The organizing committee of the congress - to consider the possibility of inviting Nobel Prize winners to participate in the congress, to increase its scientific level and recognition, to publish the materials of the congress in the journals "Eurasian Chemico - Technological Journal" and "Materials Today: Proceedings" through the peer-review procedure, and also attracting funding from Erasmus programs, INTAS, ISTC and specialized enterprises of the country, including National Companies;
8. To the leadership of the Faculty of Chemistry and Chemical Technology of al-Farabi KazNU - to consider the possibility of accrediting the educational programs of the faculty to receive the ASIIN Quality Marks "European Accredited Engineer" (EUR-ACE®) in the field of engineering sciences and the Euro Label in the field of chemical sciences.
These recommendations are aimed at raising the level of chemical science and education, as well as promoting chemistry in the country.
