On November 20, the presentation of books and discussion of topical problems of modernization of Kazakhstani culture took place in the Al-Farabi Scientific Library. The main author of scientific works was a well-known Kazakh scientist, Doctor of Philosophy sciences, Professor Tursyn Gabitov. And the presentation was organized by the Department of Religious Studies and Cultural Studies of the Faculty of Philosophy and Political Science of the al-Farabi Kazakh National University together with the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan in Almaty (ANC).

World Day of Philosophy

Dear fellow philosophers, colleagues, and friends,

     For many of us, this year’s World Philosophy Day falls amidst particularly turbulent times. Many – not all – of you are reading this message while being confined, sheltered, or quarantined at home. For some, this is an unprecedented condition; for others, it adds to prior distress; in many parts of the world, deadly epidemics are a familiar event.

The traditional annual amateur art competition «First-year Talents» was held at Al-Farabi KazNU. The event was organized in an online format, demonstrating the youthful passion, excitement and creativity of our freshmen.

On October 31, 2020, postgraduates of the 1st year of the faculty of philosophy and political science of the specialty "religious Studies" and "Religious identity in conflictology"under theleadership of Associate Professor of the Department of Religious Studies and Cultural Studies K. M. Bishmanov met with the head and representatives of the "Baha'i"religious association.

On October 31, 2020, the Al-Frabi KazNU hosted the International Scientific and Methodical Conference "State and Prospects for the Development of Domestic and World Psychology" dedicated to the 70th anniversary of Professor S.M. Dzhakupov.

On June 18, 2020, the Faculty of Philosophy and Political Science held an online defense of the master's thesis on the double-degree master's program “Europe and Asia: Cultural Diplomacy and Geopolitics of the EU” (together with St. Kliment Orchidsky Sofia University) in the majors “6M052200 – Conflictology (SU, Bulgaria)”, “6M050200 – Political Science (SU, Bulgaria)”, “6M020600-Religious Studies (SU, Bulgaria)”. For our faculty, this is the second issue of master students, for the first time in this program they graduated in 2019 in the majors “6M020600-Religious Studies (SU, Bulgaria)”, “6M020400-Cultural Studies (SU, Bulgaria)”. 

On May 29, 2020 the Department of Religious Studies and Cultural Studies of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University together with the National University of Uzbekistan held an international scientific-practical conference "Modern paradigmatic problems of education in the Eurasian space" as part of the project "Formation of Citizens of a Virtuous Society."
