Department of Sociology and Social Work at faculty of philosophy and political science of al-Farabi KazNU with the support of UNICEF implements the international project «Improving state programs for graduate and post-graduate training and re-training of social workers and specialists that perform the function of social work, including basic competencies for interaction at the individual level and in the community to change social norms and behaviour in Kazakhstan in the framework of the UNICEF-EU on the protection of children in migration processes».
On January 20-21, 2021, with the support of the Department of Educational Work of Al-Farabi KazNU, a winter training seminar of the School of Curators-Advisors was held. Winter trainings have become a good tradition. The winter workshop has been held for 11 years in a row. A feature of this year is the remote format, with the desire to preserve the training approach.
In the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University International Winter Psychological School - 2021 «Psychological workshops: Fundamentals and Technologies of Integrative Applied Psychology» which was held from 11 to 13 January 2021, completed its work.
On December 25, 2020, the Department of General and Applied Psychology of Al-Farabi KazNU celebrated the 30th anniversary Day of the Psychologist in Kazakhstan. The event was held in an online format, which included about 100 people. Among the invited guests were: aksakals of the department Zharikbaev K.B., Honored Worker of Science and Technology of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Doctor of Psychological Sciences, Professor, Academician of many Academies, Professor Zh.T. Turkpenov, as well as colleagues from different universities of the country – KarSU after Buketov, ENU after Gumilyov, KazNPU after Abai, Turan University, Kainar Academy, Atyrau University and many others, students, undergraduates and teachers of KazNU.
On December 19, 2020 at 12:00 Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, Faculty of Philosophy and Political Science, Department of Religious and Cultural Studies, within the project "Enlighten the environment" on the Zoom platform, a scientist, Doctor of Philosophy, Professor, Academician of the Academy of Sciences of Kazakhstan, Abai scholar, winner of the State Prize of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the field of literature and art named after Abai in 2020, writer Garifolla Esim with the participation of interdepartmental teachers and students.
On December 15, 2020 at 14.00 at the KazNU named after al-Farabi was held the Republican round table “Professor M.M. Mukanov and modern psychological science in Kazakhstan dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the birth of M.M. Mukanov". Madzhit Mukanovich Mukanov (04.10.1920-03.02.1985) – Kazakh psychologist. Specialist in the field of general, developmental and ethnic psychology, a recognized head and organizer of psychological science in Kazakhstan.
From November 12, 2020 to 27 a series of webinars on the topic "Islamic Philosophy" by PhD, Associate Professor of the University of Jyväskylä (Finland) Syros Vasileios was held. The webinars were organized by the Department of Religious and Cultural Studies at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, was held.
On November 24, 2020, an international youth research conference "The innovative potential of youth: citizenship, professionalism, creativity" was held at the Boris Yeltsin Ural Federal University. The peculiarity of the conference was that it was timed to coincide with the 75th anniversary of the Great Victory and the 100th anniversary of the Ural Federal University. The conference, which is traditionally held for the 10th time, was attended by the rector of the university V.A. Koksharov.
