From 15 to 21 November 2020 in the framework of the project AR 08053077 “Missionary activity in the Internet space and its role in shaping the religious consciousness of youth of Kazakhstan” the lecturers of the Department of Religious and Cultural Studies, Faculty of Philosophy and Political Science at Al-Farabi KazNU, Head of the project PhD Utebaeva D. S., members of the project PhD Aljanova N.K., master of religious studies A.N. Karybaeva participated in the scientific seminar “Missionary work in the Internet space”, organized by the Auezov South Kazakhstan University. On November 16, there was a meeting organized with the teaching staff of the Department of General history and Museum Affairs of Auezov South Kazakhstan University, where were discussed new research in the field of missionary activity and its impact on the consciousness of young people in Kazakhstan in the Internet space. Through the work conducted by the scientific seminar, which was attended by head of the Department of General history and museology of the Auezov South Kazakhstan University G.K. Otarbayeva, PhD, Associate Professor A. S. Assanova, as well as professors of the Department. Professor G.K. Otarbayeva noted the importance of the study of religious activities in the modern world, the place and role of youth education in the framework Rukhani Zhangyru (Spiritual Revival), also head of the Department introduced the next completed scientific research projects of the Department.

During the seminar, PhD doctor, Senior Lecturer of the Department of General history and Museum Affairs S.S. Assanova made a report on the topic “Psychological aspects of youth involvement in destructive religious organizations”. At the scientific seminar, the project members made presentations: “Missionary activity in the Internet space: theoretical and methodological foundations of research”, “Qualitative and quantitative research methods: questionnaires, focus groups, in-depth interviews”, “Features of missionary activity in the Republic of Kazhastan”. The scientific seminar also discussed: modern methods of missionary work and its influence on ethnic culture, specifics of the functioning of information technologies of missionary activity based on scientific sources of foreign and domestic research, their influence on the formation of religious consciousness of young people.
