Curators-advisors of the Department of Language and General Education training of foreigners actively conduct educational work. At the next educational event, the open curatorial hour "My favorite city of Almaty", foreign students from China, Korea, Iran received information about the history and present day of the southern capital of Kazakhstan. The video presentation presented to the audience allowed making a virtual tour of the city of Almaty.

At the Department of Language and General Education Training of foreigners, interest clubs for students have been conducting active educational work for many years. Another event was held by the local history club "Sayakhat" - an excursion "Architectural monuments of Almaty". At the meeting of the club, the teachers introduced the main milestones of the history of Almaty. During the tour, the students visited the historical center of our beautiful city.

In the period from 18 to 24 October 2022 teachers of the Department of Language and General Education training of foreigners held several educational events dedicated to the Day of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Depending on the level of language proficiency, events of different formats were held. The languages of the events are Kazakh and Russian, depending on the language of instruction.

The events were held by the curators-advisors of all study groups, as well as the heads of the local history club "Sayakhat" and the educational club "Kazakh Studies". During the events, foreign students received information about the modern history of our country, as well as about modern Kazakhstan. The teachers answered all the questions that arose during the meetings.

On October 22, teachers and students from different countries of the Department of Language and General Education Training of Foreigners took an active part in the event organized by the Rector's office - the Golden Autumn Fair. The beautiful weather allowed to enjoy the prepared cultural program in full. The event allowed foreign students to get acquainted with the university campus, as well as with the culture of Kazakhstan.

Teachers of the Department of Language and General Education Training of Foreigners of the Faculty of Pre-university Education Mashibaeva G.A., Yeshimov M.P., Duisenbayeva R.I. organized an excursion to the Museum of Almaty with students studying the Kazakh language. The purpose of the open curatorial event was to familiarize foreigners with the history of the city of Almaty. foreign students received information about the history and the present day of the metropolis.

On September 26, 2022, the curators of the Department of Language and General Education Training of Foreigners took part in an event organized by the Confucius Institute at the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University dedicated to the National Day of the People's Republic of China celebrated on October 1. Together with students from China who are studying Russian, the meeting was attended by Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Pre-University Education Keldebekov Kanat Karakulovich. An interesting concert and information program was presented to the guests. It should be noted that the Department of Language and General Education Training of foreigners has a long-standing fruitful relationship with the Confucius Institute, which is the flagship of the training of specialists in the Chinese language in Kazakhstan.

On September 5, 2022, curators-advisors of the Department of Language and General Education Training of foreigners held curatorial hours dedicated to the Day of Languages of the People of Kazakhstan. Foreign students undergo language training at the department: they study Kazakh and Russian languages here. Taking into account the level of language proficiency of the audience, the teachers prepared presentations, as well as messages informing the audience about the history of the date. The attention of foreign students was focused on the 150th anniversary of the educator, linguist, literary critic, turkologist, poet, translator, public and political figure Akhmet Baitursynov, on whose birthday the Day of Languages of the Peoples of Kazakhstan is celebrated, as well as on how languages are developing in multinational Kazakhstan.

Teachers of the Department of Language and General Education Training of foreigners at an extraordinary meeting Address of President K.K.Tokayev to the people of Kazakhstan, which he delivered on September 1 at a joint meeting of the upper and lower chambers of Parliament. Reports were prepared in Kazakh and Russian, analyzing the ideas put forward by the head of state. In the summer of 2022, schoolchildren from America arrived at al-Farabi Kazakh National University under the youth Program of the US Department of State "Language Initiative for Youth" (National Security Language Initiative for Youth - NSLI-Y). The purpose of the visit of young Americans is to improve knowledge and develop Russian language skills. In addition, the NSLI-Y program involves acquaintance with the host country and immersion in the culture, as well as in the daily life of the country of study.

Teachers of the Department of Language and General Education Training of Foreigners of the Faculty of Pre-university Education warmly welcomed the youth landing from the USA. The head of the program from the Kazakh National University is Ulzhan Yesenovna Musabekova, Doctor of Philology. The organizers from the Kazakh side offered the attention of the high school students who arrived in Almaty a diverse program of teaching Russian as a foreign language, including the development of skills and abilities in all types of speech activity, depending on the level of language proficiency, as well as an interesting plan for visiting cultural, historical, natural attractions of the southern capital of Kazakhstan and its environs. A rich excursion program developed by the organizers (first of all, teacher Taisiya Vitalievna Kurmanova), made it possible to actively communicate with the local population, personally observe the preparation of dishes of Kazakh national cuisine, watch the jigging, Kazakh national games and even get a master class on horseback riding ...

For the past 2 years, the whole world has been suffering from a pandemic. But, despite this, foreign students continue to come to study Russian and Kazakh languages ​​at the Department of Language and General Educational Training of the Faculty of Pre-University Education of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.
 In the classroom, teachers not only teach languages, but also try to tell more about the culture and history of Kazakhstan. Students will learn about Kazakh scientists, astronauts, poets, writers, musicians. On January 27, 2022, the curators of the department prepared and held a round table online, which was called "Young geniuses glorifying their country." At this event, with the help of a slide show, the curators spoke about the young talents of Kazakhstan, and foreign students from Turkey spoke about the talented children of their homeland.
