The department of language and general education training of foreigners of faculty of pre-university education has wide experience on training of listeners from the different countries of the world. A task of teachers is not only to provide to foreigners qualitative knowledge, but also to create the positive attitude towards Kazakhstan. The specifics of carrying out educational work with foreigners consist that on the one hand, it is subordinated to achievement of the same purposes, as educational work with local students, citizens of Kazakhstan. But on the other hand, methods of carrying out educational work with students foreigners cardinally differ. Studying of language assumes understanding of culture, history, mentality of people, and its carrier. Here the role of teacher who has to unostentatiously, correctly cultivate respect for everything is big that is connected with a concept the Republic of Kazakhstan. Responsibility in creation of positive image not only the university, but also the whole country in general, is on shoulders of teachers of our department. Educational work is carried out constantly. It is everyday laborious work of curators-advisers on creation of the atmosphere of mutual respect, friendship, internationalism, religious tolerance.

     Many of the events held at faculty get through the test of time. The Let's Get Acquainted is festival concert within the Open Day of department held in anticipation of New Year on which listeners show the first progress in acquisition of Russian or Kazakh. Arrival of the Nauryz is noted by holding "A festival of national dishes" where foreigners get acquainted with features of culinary art of different people. Foreign listeners participate in the World Farabi conference, submitting the regional geographic, scientific reports written in training language under the leadership of teachers. And with what pleasure our students participate in sporting events!

     It is possible to designate as specific the subject of curator hours and meetings. It is directed to acquaintance, understanding of modern Kazakhstan life, and its contemporary history. Among subjects we will note "Rules of living of foreign citizens in RK", "The rights and the student's duties: The code of honor of student of KazNU", "Rules of accommodation in hostel", "The state symbols of RK", "Astana is the capital of independent Kazakhstan", "The holidays celebrated in RK", etc. Especially as interest in the processes happening in our country at foreign listeners is huge.

      Important help in carrying out successful educational work at faculty are the clubs on interests, created by teachers of department of language and general education training of foreigners. One more notability is the Museum, where photos and other exhibits for the entire period of existence of department are collected. Considering black-and-white photos, letters of students, souvenirs and other exhibits, listeners touch the history of faculty and university, seek to contribute to development of the museum, fill out "The magazine of responses", bring documentary materials about the countries, and give traditional national souvenirs.

     Teachers are faced by the difficult tasks to interest the foreign citizen in public life of faculty from the first days of its stay in walls of the university. It is clear, that forcing to participate foreigners in concerts, sports competitions, and festivals would be incorrect and it is impossible. Positive reaction from listeners can take place, only if the authority of the teacher is at appropriate level. Teachers of department are in constant search of interesting forms and methods of educational work with foreign students.
