Scientific-educational center "Multilingual education resource center" is a structural subdivision of al-Farabi Kazakh National University, operating on a self-financing basis. "Multilingual education resource center" created by the decision of the Academic Council of the University from 26.12.2016 Protocol No. 4, as a structural unit the Department of language and General education of foreigners of Faculty of Pre-university Education engaged in entrepreneurial activities on the basis of commercial contracts.

The location of the Centre: 39/47, Masanchi St. (street corner of Bogenbai batyr), classroom 218^а, 050038, Almaty, Kazakhstan.

Directions of Centre activity

The centre carries out scientific and educational work, consultancy and other services in the following areas:

1. Educational

1) development programs copyright aspect of teaching Kazakh and Russian languages as foreign;

2) development of teaching materials (textbooks, manuals, dictionaries);

3) run additional certified education programs "Kazakh as a foreign language", "Russian as a foreign language", "Interpreter" for teachers of Kazakh and Russian languages for foreign students;

4) conduct trainings, seminars, webinars, interactive learning Kazakh and Russian languages as foreign;

5) development of distance learning courses for training Kazakh and Russian languages as foreign;

6) start a program of intensive training in Kazakh, Russian and English languages as languages of speciality for foreign students who wants to continue their education in the universities of Kazakhstan.

2) development of social projects to attract foreign students to study in universities of Kazakhstan;

3. Research

1) development of scientific basis of teaching methods Kazakh and Russian languages as foreign;

2) development of information and communication technologies in teaching Kazakh and Russian languages as foreign;

3) conducting research in the field of study of the Kazakh and Russian as foreign languages (psycholinguistic, sociolinguistic, didactic);

The resource center of multilingual education has all the necessary resources for the successful implementation of educational activities for foreign students who wants to get language training in Kazakh and Russian as foreign languages.

Teaching is carried out by experienced teachers of Kazakh and Russian as foreign languages, who for many years have been teaching foreign students from different countries of the world: the USA, Europe, Asia, etc. Every year more than 500 foreign students receive language training in the Kazakh language.

Teachers of the Center professionally master modern methods and technologies of foreign language teaching in KazAF and RAF, are authors of educational technologies and methods for teaching Kazakh and Russian languages as foreign.

The center has the necessary resource base for teaching Kazakh and Russian as foreign languages: textbooks, teaching manuals, dictionaries, audio-video material.

Our Kazakh and Russian language courses are divided into 6 basic levels of study, according to the Common European competences of of the Council of Europe: from level A1 to higher C2.

The Center is diagnosing of the language level, develops an individual or specialized program for intensive mastering of Kazakh and Russian languages.

For its listeners the Center developed a special course on the culture of Kazakhstan (excursions to museums in Almaty, picnics in nature, climbing the peaks of the Zailiysky Alatau, the ski resort of Chimbulak, Kolsai Lakes, etc.), lessons in Kazakh hospitality: national cuisine, familiarity with traditions Kazakh people)

In after-school time students can develop their Russian language in club classes: debating, music, cinema.

During the entire period of study foreign students are helped to adapt in the country, to spend interesting time their linguistic partners from the number of Kazakhstani students-volunteers.

At the end of the course all students, who successfully completed the program, receive the certificate from KazNU.
