Leadership Lecture by Professor Alan K. Outram of the University of Exeter (UK)

Today, the Faculty of history hosted a leadership lecture by Professor Alan K. Outram of the University of Exeter (UK). The lecture was attended by teachers of the faculty, as well as students of A. H. Margulan. Researchers of the Institute of archeology also took part.
During the lecture:
- English medieval war horses;
- zooarchaeology and its methods;
- the features of modern horses and medieval war horses were mentioned.
🔹 The professor's Leadership Lecture will continue tomorrow at 11.00 in 405 classrooms. Theme of the lecture:"the place of the Botai monument and discussions on the domestication of horses".

International scientific and methodological conference" XIV Orazbayev readings"

Today, Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, Faculty of History,Department of Archeology, Ethnology and museology together with the Central State Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Museum-Reserve "Tanbaly" held the traditional international scientific and methodological conference “XIV Orazbayev readings”, dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the famous scientist, archaeologist A. M. Orazbayev on the topic “cultural ties in ancient and Medieval Times: new research and discoveries” in the Museum Reserve "Tanbaly".
🔹 The conference was attended by domestic and foreign scientists, as well as the teaching staff of the Faculty of history, students, undergraduates.

Scientific trip to the camel breeding of Daulet-Beket limited liability company in the ethnographic and ethnoecological direction

On October 27, 2022, the Department of archeology, Ethnology and museology organized a scientific trip in the ethnographic and ethnoecological directions to the village of Akshi, Almaty region, in the Valley of the kurti River, to the camel breeding of Daulet-Beket LLC.

Kartayeva Tattigul-professor, candidate of historical sciences, ethnographer (group leader);
Eurim Olcher Ozinel-member of the International Commission on intangible cultural heritage of the International Organization UNESCO, member of the National Commission of UNESCO of Turkey, associate professor of Ankara Haji Bayram Veli University, PhD (Turkey, Ankara);
Sala Renato - leading researcher, archaeologist of the International Laboratory" geoarchaeology " (Italy);
Deom Jean-Marc-senior researcher at the International Laboratory" geoarchaeology", archaeologist (Belgium).
Ethnographic scientists carried out preliminary control and exploration in the direction of ethnosurgery, ethnozoology, ethnomedicine related to camels; geoarchaeological scientists carried out preliminary control and exploration in the direction of geoethnoecology, geoethnobotany related to the provision of camel grazing.
The group of scientists was worked by the director of Daulet-Beket LLP Sydik Abuovich Dauletov.

Republic Day: Renaissance Holiday

In honor of the celebration of the Republic Day on October 21, the teacher of the Department of Archeology, Ethnology and Museology, Esenamanova Aigerim Serikova, held an educational hour “Republic Day: Renaissance Holiday” for 1st year students of “Ethnology and Anthropology”.
On July 16, 2022, at the National Kurultai, President of Kazakhstan Kassymzhomart Tokayev proposed to return the status of a national holiday to the Republic Day. Republic Day is a symbol of the country's historic step towards building a state.

On October 25, in honor of the Republic Day, students of the 3rd year of the specialty" Archeology and Ethnology " of the Faculty of history visited the State Central Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan and got acquainted with the exposition halls of the museum, taking into account the special place of museum institutions in patriotic education, formation of national consciousness.

On October 3-7, 2022, the "XIX Turkish history Congress" was held in Ankara, Turkey.
🔷 The Congress has been held every four years by the Turkish history society since 1932. This scientific event was attended by the head of the Department of archeology, Ethnology and museology R. S. Zhumatayev, who reported on the archaeological research work of scientists of Al-Farabi kaznu. At the same time, negotiations were held with Turkish archaeologists and joint study of archaeological sites of the Turkic era on the territory of Kazakhstan was discussed.

Round table "kutlyk Kagan inscription-the novelty of the century"

Today, the Al-Farabi Library hosted a round table "Kutlyk Kagan inscription - a novelty of the century".
The Round Table was attended by university professors and Bazylkhan Napil – researcher of the International Turkic Academy, Altangereliyn Enkhtyr – head of the Center for medieval archaeological research of the Institute of history, archeology, Mongolian Academy of Sciences.
During the event, opinions were expressed on the opening of the Kutlyk Kagan complex, and future joint archaeological research was discussed.
