On November 5, 2014, the presentation of Iranian philosopher, the President of Iran Academy of Science and the leading figure in the field of culture and philosophical thought Doctor Reza Davari Ardakani’s book “Farabi is the founder of Islamic Philosophy” was held at the Faculty of Oriental Studies with the organization of the Department of Arabic and Iranian Studies. At the meeting the students and teachers of the Department of Arabic and Iranian Studies were honored to hear the basic philosophical thoughts of respected Doctor Ardakani that were written in his new book. Particularly, Dr. Ardakani presented a study of views of the Arab thinker in the light of Islamic philosophy in his work, and also said about many countries having the right to consider Farabi as their national scientist, but noted that Kazakhstan has a particular place in this situation as the true birthplace of the great scientist. In conclusion, Dr. Ardakani gave his book with a personal autograph to all teachers and students of the Faculty.
