On January 26, 2024, an international scientific seminar on the topic "Linguocognitive aspects of interpretation" was organized on the basis of the Department of Chinese Studies of the Faculty of Oriental Studies. With this seminar, the Department of Chinese Studies opened a series of events dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the establishment of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. The seminar was attended by the teaching staff of the Department of Chinese Philology of the IAAC of  Moscow State University named after M.V. Lomonosov, Mordovia  State University named after N.P. Ogaryev, Xinjiang University, Beijing University of Foreign Languages, Kazakh Ablai Khan university of International relations and world languages and the professors, teachers of the Faculty of Oriental Studies of our university . The scientific seminar was opened by the Dean of the Faculty of Oriental Studies, Ms. Em. N.B., who noted the extreme importance of holding such events in strengthening the image of our university as a research university. Welcoming words were delivered by the Deputy Dean of Science of the Faculty of Foreign Languages of the Mordovia  State University named after N.P. Ogaryev, Ms. I.V. Korovina, who congratulated our alma mater on its 90th anniversary and wished success to the upcoming scientific seminar. The event was held under the guidance of Professor of the Department of Chinese Studies Daulet F.N., who introduced a collaborative method of education into the educational process from the 2023-2024 academic year, based on the disciplines "Practical rhetoric and interpretation techniques" and "Innovative technologies and methodology of teaching translation". At the seminar, the main speakers were also undergraduates of the 1st year of study Sadenova A. and Dankey B. The essence of the collaborative method, actively used by Professor Daulet F.N. in the educational process, is based on the active interaction of professors, teachers, undergraduates, doctoral students of one university and other organizations external to them, as well ase employers - public-private partners. In the main part of the international scientific seminar, the participants of the event discussed the linguistic and cognitive aspects of interpretation and related practical problems related to the consideration of adequacy in translation, the transmission of linguistic realities, the role of the translator as an interpreter, and the identification of the main patterns of translation activity. The seminar participants noted that such scientific workshops make an invaluable contribution to strengthening the status of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University as a research university.
