Memorial Day of Mahatma Gandhi will be held in Almaty

The same day marks the International Day of Non-Violence, a holiday established by the UN General Assembly on June 27, 2007.

The life path and leadership principles of M. Gandhi serve as an inspiration for non-violent movements around the world for civil rights and social change.

The event will be attended by lecturers and students of the Department of Indian Studies under the Department of the Middle East and South Asia of Oriental Studies Faculty of Al-Farabi KazNU, representatives of the Consulate of India in Almaty, students of the No. 92 M. Gandhi specialized school-lyceum for gifted children, representatives and directors of Indian companies in Almaty, as well as everyone who is interested in the history, culture and philosophy of India.
