The language is the main symbol of the state, the basis of the country. It is not only a means of communication, connecting humanity, a carrier of thought and words, but also the core of the nation, the heritage of ancestors passed down from generation to generation. We appreciate and cherish this rich heritage. As you know, the main language of our state is the Kazakh language. This is clearly spelled out in Article 7 of the Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan and is defined as the state language.

On September 22, 1989, the law "On Languages"was adopted. On July 11, 1997, the law "On languages in the Republic of Kazakhstan" was re-adopted with the aim of improving the status of the language and becoming an independent state of the country. In accordance with the Resolution of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated October 31, 2017 No. 689, the Day of languages of the people of Kazakhstan is celebrated on September 5. This change was associated with the birthday of the scientist and founder of the Kazakh alphabet Akhmet Baitursynov, who fought for the fate and language of the Kazakh people. The Day of the celebration of Languages has become not only a reverence for the language, but also an instrument of interethnic harmony and spiritual cooperation in the country. Currently, there is a growing interest in the Kazakh language in the country. Its obvious result is the mandatory document management in the Kazakh language, as well as an increase in the number of Kazakh-speaking kindergartens and schools and the number of language learners. In addition, a mandatory component for obtaining education abroad was the passing of the Kazakh language proficiency test “Kaztest”.

In honor of this holiday, we held a round table among our students in an online format, where students and teachers shared their vision of the development of their native language, demonstrated the desire of each student to pass on their native language from century to century, from generation to generation, as well as the desire to develop it in the future. The students were able to prove that by showing respect for their native language, it is possible to study and speak other languages. The students showed that they speak several languages and develop them together with their native language. And so they read poems and short essays in their native and foreign languages. The task of each person is to show respect for his native language. Not forgetting that in the event of the loss of a language, one nation will be lost, the previous generation will always instruct the next generation to preserve their native language, and if the language is lost, an entire nation may disappear. The younger generation must fight for the preservation of the language, traditions, art, religion and mentality of its people.

The students gathered at the round table read poems and words of edification of the great writer Abai not only in their native language, but also in Turkish, English, Russian and other languages.

Before this event, they also shared video materials in which an online challenge was held for expressive reading of the works of Kazakh poets and writers in different languages.

After such a fruitful meeting, which was attended by the deputy dean of the Faculty of Oriental Studies for educational, methodological and educational work Amirbekova Umitay, Deputy head of the department "TURKSOY" for educational, methodological and educational work Zhanataeva Kulzhan Bekenovna and senior teachers of the department Dulaeva Elnara Zilpikarovna, Baloglu Selenay, wished that students always honor their native language by studying other languages of the world. The teachers expressed their warm wishes to the students, noting that the task of the older generation is to teach the younger generation to respect and honor their native language and how teachers will continue their activities in teaching a foreign language in their native language.

Language is an inexhaustible wealth. Having mastered several languages, you will be a step higher than others. However, first of all, knowing the state language, we will show respect for other languages and their culture. In the modern world, it is very important to preserve the heritage of our ancestors, listen to the edifications and introduce our native language to a new frontier. Therefore, every person is obliged and responsible for increasing the prestige of the language and the country.
