At the Faculty of Oriental Studies were celebrated spring holidays Nauryz and Holi

On March 29, 2021 at the Department of the Middle East and South Asia of the Faculty of Oriental Studies of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, with the assistance of the Swami Vivekananda Indian Cultural Center the celebration of the spring holidays Nauryz and Holi was held. The guests of the event were the director of the Indian Cultural Center named after Swami Vivekananda, Mr. Sanjay Garg, the President of the Indian Chamber of Commerce Dr. Sohel Mohammad, as well as representatives of the Indian diaspora of Kazakhstan. Deputy Dean for Scientific-innovative and International Relations K.T. Gabdullin, Associate Professor of the Department of the Middle East and South Asia Erekesheva L.G., Z.E. Iskakova, D.M. Kokeeva, D.N. Tairova and others attended the meeting. As part of the celebration of the spring holidays Nauryz and Holi the Indian Cultural Center cooperation with the Faculty of Oriental Studies arranged a cultural program in which poems, gazelles, songs, dances, as well as presentations and video materials on the topic of Nauryz - Holi were demonstrated. The arrangements of this program took part students-Indologists of our university, young people who studied in various specialties in India itself, as well as amateurs of India. Students of the Gangani Parampara School of Classical Indian Dance, headed by the director and choreographer Zarina Akhmetova, demonstrated the dance program.

This event opened opportunities even in the online format to feel the joy and warmth of the spring holidays of the two countries and plunge into the atmosphere of celebration.
