On Friday, March 26, 2021, the Department of Turksoy of the Faculty of Oriental Studies and the Research center "Written monuments and spiritual heritage" Al-Farabi held online seminar on the topic "Age of Turkic languages" with the participation of Professor Osman Yildiz, Department of Turkish Language and Literature of the University. In his report, Professor Osman Yildiz spoke in detail about the existence of the most ancient written monuments of the Turkic language before the 8th century. He also noted that the common written heritage of the Turkic peoples is not only Kultegin, Tonikok, but also Khor, Kul Ich Chor (Ihe-Khushotu) (719-723), which are believed to have been written in 687-692. In general, Professor Osman Yildiz expressed the opinion that not only Central Asia, but also Mesopotamia could be the homeland of the Turkic tribes, that research on these issues is not large-scale. The seminar was attended by many researchers who shared their views and opinions. At the end of the meeting, on behalf of the faculty, the deputy head of Department of Turksoy on scientifically-innovative activity and international relations, senior lecturer Nurat Ilyas thanked.
