This year September 21, the Faculty of Oriental Studies was visited by Batyrkhan Kurmanseit, an orientalist, Japanologist, Doctor of Philosophy in International Relations.

     Batyrkhan Kurmanseit currently serves as Ambassador at large to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

     Batyrkhan Kurmanseit visited the Faculty of Oriental Studies, where he got acquainted with the life of the faculty, which is passing to the distance learning system in connection with this year's global pandemic, and expressed his support and wishes of success to the whole faculty employees in the current academic year.

     Dean of the Faculty of Oriental Studies Iktiyar Paltore met with Mr. Batyrkhan Kurmanseit as chairman of the Alumni Association, to discuss the organization of preparations for next year's Alumni Day. During the meeting, Batyrkhan Kurmanseit shared his views on the announcement of a competition for the text and song of the modern anthem "Orientalists". This proposal was supported by the staff of the faculty, and from next month for the next six months will be announced a competition for the text and song of the anthem "Orientalists" for graduates of the Faculty of Oriental Studies. It was agreed that the terms and conditions of the competition will be discussed soon.

     At the end of the meeting, the dean of the faculty Iktiyar Paltore thanked the chairman of the Alumni Association Batyrkhan Kurmanseit on behalf of the staff and wished him success in his work.
