The Shakhmardan Yessenov Science and Education Foundation launches its annual grant competition for 10 grants for undergraduate students, master’s students, and active research associates who wish to undertake a research internship in a leading laboratory of the world. 

If you are:

• ·         A citizen of the Republic of Kazakhstan;
• ·         Enrolled at a university in Kazakhstan or an active research specialist;
• ·         Specializing technical or natural sciences;
• ·         Interested in pursuing a PhD and aspire to a career in science in the long-term;

• Eager to contribute to the development of science in Kazakhstan.

You have the chance to BECOME A GRANT WINNER AND UNDERTAKE A RESEARCH INTERNSHIP ABROAD IN THE SUMMER OF 2022

To do so submit your application down below, including the following documents before December 9, 2021:

Mandatory documents:

¾      ID scan;

¾      An essay on the following topic: "Innovative ideas for the popularization of science and the development of education, science or production in the field of their specialization in Kazakhstan.";

¾      Transcripts (all semesters of study);

¾      Bachelor's degree diploma with grades (for Master’s students and research specialists) or a diploma from the last place of study (undergraduate students) – no more than 1 document;

¾      Curriculum Vitae.

Additional documents:

¾      Certificates in Science – no more than 3 certificates*;

¾      Certificates in active involvement in public life and volunteering – no more than 2 certificates*;

¾      Publications – no more than 2 publications*

¾      Recommendation of a research supervisor/the vice-rector or rector of the university – no more than 1 document.

The program provides 10 grants for summer internships in leading scientific and research laboratories of the world, lasting up to 90 days.

Technopark of IT startups Astana Hub announces a contest for the best technological solution to the social problem of its region or city “Idea Battle". Startups from all over Kazakhstan can take part.
The main selection criterion is the practical usefulness of the solution for a particular region. The winners of the competition will receive 200 thousand tenge each and access to the educational programs of the technopark.
The competition will be held in an online format. To participate, you need to post a photo or video post on Instagram with the name of the city, a description of the problem and its solution, specifying the hashtag #hub_ideabattle. Applications will be accepted on November 12 and will last until November 22, and on November 24, three winners of the contest will be announced live on the astana.hub Instagram page.

The project "Retrospect" or "Back to the Future" became the starting project in the 2021-2022 academic year of the Student Bureau for the Bologna Process of the Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics. The main goal of the project was to draw up a general picture of the past years, that is, to determine that the future and the past are the time where we cannot get to, but there is only the passing hour. That each of us must learn to learn from the past and predict the future in order to make the right decisions today. It is necessary to take into account that the project took place in the form of a musical, where the teams were divided and showed the features of different decades in compliance with all sanitary and epidemiological norms. Participants of the SBBP of other faculties, heads and deputies of СYOs, chairmen and their teams of other organizations at the Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics were invited as spectators. Students of the Faculty of Chemistry and Chemical Technology and the Faculty of Information Technology also participated as special guests. The project was held jointly with the Department of Computational Sciences and Statistics.
