EP purpose

Training of scientific and pedagogical personnel in the field of logistics (by industry), capable of managing a single economic space of flows: capital, goods, information and labor resources with minimal obstacles; carry out work on the placement of warehouse complexes, cargo terminals, logistics centers in the given territories; organize and coordinate the work of various modes of transport in transport hubs; to form intersectoral material balances; to design and carry out reengineering of micro-macrologistic systems; make optimal logistics decisions in supply chain management of enterprises in various sectors of the economy.

Educational outcome

Upon completion of this educational program, it is expected that students will be able to:

ON1: to Analyze the activity of economic entities, to make evidence-based conclusions and choose the necessary form of organization of production and management to make management decisions to build and use models to describe and predict processes using qualitative and quantitative analysis; monitor key financial indicators of logistics activities for transportation in the supply chain by constructing a system of cost control..

ON2: Develop an action plan to achieve financial performance of cargo transportation activities within supply chains; analyze financial information and promptly generate financial reports; monitor financial indicators planned in the budget with actual data of budget execution reports; evaluate and analyze identified deviations in absolute terms or as a percentage.

ON3: Carry out planning, coordination and controlling of logistics processes and systems; conduct analytical research of the logistics market; evaluate logistics projects for their financial support and maintaining a balance between the cost and efficiency of logistics processes; evaluate the profitability of transportation, the implementation of the gross profit plan, make and approve forecasts for the budget period.

ON4: Monitor key operational performance indicators of logistics activities for cargo transportation in the supply chain based on the analysis of reports from various departments, monitoring the performance of performance indicators and management measures to achieve the planned results; develop projects aimed at reducing the cost of operations and improving labor productivity and quality indicators: timely delivery and safety of goods.

ON5 Formulate the vision, mission and values of the company; develop strategies for the development of the company's logistics activities in the field of business process management in the supply chain based on strategic management, marketing, production organization, modern business technologies, financial management; predict and analyze trends in the development of logistics and supply chain management; identify leading companies and competitive conditions in the cargo transportation market.

ON6 Integrate knowledge of related scientific fields into the research process in historical-philosophical and pedagogical-psychological areas within the scientific paradigms of logistics; apply multilingual sources in the context of their own scientific research; interpret the results of their own scientific research and communicate them to both specialists and non-specialists; build their own program of further education and research activities in Kazakh and foreign languages.

ON7: To build a commercial policy for the provision of logistics services for cargo transportation in the supply chain based on the sales strategy of logistics services, customer service policy; to use analysis methods used in practice to solve the problem of developing a commercial policy for the provision of logistics services by logistics providers; to analyze the needs and motives of customers in logistics services; to provide an optimal level of service.

ON8: Analyze the competitive environment at the regional and international level, conduct logistics benchmarking, monitor the condition and analyze the technical and infrastructural development of transport and logistics centers; compare TLC indicators with KPIs of other terminals; determine the occupied market share and the level of services provided relative to competitors; determine ways to improve TLC positions in the market and its occupied share..

ON9: Create risk management systems for the provision of logistics services for the transportation of goods in the supply chain based on compiling a list of types of logistics risks, identifying logistics risk and assessing the likelihood of its implementation and the scale of consequences, implementing a logistics risk management strategy; analyze and select insurance companies that comply with the company's risk management policy.

ON10: Monitor the terminal's activities on the basis of production, economic and financial-economic activities; evaluate the chosen strategy of the terminal enterprise; conclude contracts, make transactions, transactions with third-party organizations on behalf of enterprises; critically evaluate the pricing policy of enterprises; analyze and evaluate the activities of terminal divisions; adjust and monitor the activities of the terminal's structural divisions and individual employees.

ON11: Manage the work of the logistics department of the enterprise and apply the principles of logistics in supply chains based on coordination, integration of information, financial and documentary flows related to logistics processes, effective interaction with other structural divisions of enterprises in the supply chain, compliance with the company's standards of internal and external document management, with service providers, customers and carriers.

ОN12: Develop measures for coordination, integration, synchronization of logistics processes based on reducing the downtime of transport under cargo operations, increasing throughput, rational use of warehouses, platforms, platforms, access roads for vehicles, rational use of loading and unloading machines, mechanisms and vehicles; introduce advanced techniques and methods of work, automated commercial work management systems and automated workplaces.

Within the framework of the center, scientific schools are being developed, such as E-commerce in a pandemic, "Smart" Food Supply Chains, Logistics processes in a pandemic. The Center is aimed at improving the qualifications of teachers, expanding cooperation with employers, strengthening international collaboration with scientists from leading universities, attracting undergraduates and doctoral students to research activities, and commercializing scientific research. The Smart Marketing and Logistics Center is always open to promising and mutually beneficial proposals, both from the scientific community and from business and production.

On the basis of the Department of "Business Technologies" there is a student scientific circle "Logistics of the future". The circle is organized with the aim of improving scientific work with students and young scientists of the department, improving the quality of training qualified specialists to work in various sectors of the economy of the Republic of Kazakhstan. As well as creating the necessary conditions for the formation and development of interest in scientific activity, support for talented young scientists and the formation of the country's human resources potential.
