A round table "Human rights in modern world: basic approaches, problems and prospects"

The UN Assistance Center on International Relations Department of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, jointly with the United Nations Information Office in Almaty, conducted round table "Human rights in modern world: basic approaches, problems and prospects" in the 11th of December, 2017.

On December 10, the international community observes the Human Rights Day. It was on this day in 1948 when the UN General Assembly adopted the Universal Declaration of Human Rights which is the first international act on human rights.

The initiative of organizing the round table belongs to the 2nd course students of English group of the international relations faculty who are convinced that it is the active involvement of young people in the discussion on the protection and promotion of human rights that will contribute to the solution of the problem at all levels.

Within the framework of the round table, participants made presentations on the following topics: "The Universal Declaration of Human Rights: History, Content and Importance", "The Problem of Violation of Human Rights in Different Countries of the World", "The Role and Importance of Human Rights in Kazakhstan" and "Antinuclear Kazakhstan's initiatives in the context of the right to a healthy environment and the right to peace. "
The round table was held in an interactive and lively atmosphere.
The participants thanked the co-organizer of the event Vlastimil Samek and expressed their desire and readiness to develop work and research in this direction.
