The European Information Center

 

    The Center was established by the Delegation of the European Commission to the Republic of Kazakhstan in 1998 with the aim of promoting and coordinating educational and research projects. The Center is engaged in providing and disseminating information about the activities of the European Union, its institutions and the policies pursued by the EU Member States in the field of European integration; holds conferences, round tables, seminars; promotes the development of research on European topics; disseminates the experience of organizing international cooperation and improves the qualifications of the staff of higher educational institutions in the region; conducts seminars, incl. international on participation in educational programs of the EU.

    The consulting activity of EIC employees is one of the main areas of their work. The staff of the Center consults both on the activities of the EU as a whole and on issues related to the countries of the European continent, acquaints students with the educational programs of European universities.

    The Center regularly organizes guest lectures by professors from European universities and "ambassadorial hours". Every year the Center organizes competitions of scientific papers among students dedicated to the knowledge of the European Union, issues of cooperation between the EU and Kazakhstan. Since 2002, the director of the Center is Professor Baizakova K.I.
