There was a round table devoted to the Day of Victory in the Great Patriotic War on April 15, 2015.

On April 15, 2015 at the Faculty of International Relations was held a round table devoted to the Day of Victory in the Great Patriotic War and the summing up of the Second World War as well. The well-known historian, Professor Tleu Kulbayev enthusiastically talked about previously unknown facts of invaluable contribution to the victory of Kazakhstani. Also he talked about his work in the Podolsk military archives and a unique document which was found there. The audience with genuine attention listened to the story of the heroes of the war and the unknown heroism of Kazakh girls such as Altynshash Nurgozhinova and Hiuaz Dospanova. His research aroused great interest and many questions from the students. For example, they were interested where and how to find documents about the relatives of missing persons during the war; documents on the participation of Kazakhs in the Second World War. Questions about patriotism, the price of future life, involvement of women in the war, about current conflicts and their comparison with the distant past caused great and interesting discussion. The discussion was attended by teachers, students and undergraduates of IRF, including foreign ones. All expressed great gratitude to prof. Kulbaev for his noble work.

The roundtable was held on the initiative and organization of the Center for German Studies, the Chair of IR and WE, which was attended by prof. Gubaidullina Mara, docents Balaubaeva, Kulbaeva and Idrysheva.
