Students of the Department of International Law of the Faculty of International Relations became the winners of the Republican Tournament "SDU MOOT COURT CUP 2021".

On May 4, 2021, students of the Department of International Law of the Faculty of International Relations took part in the interuniversity scientific conference "Youth and Science", dedicated to the 30th anniversary of independence of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the 65th anniversary of the Almaty Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan. On April 29, at the Department of International Law of the Faculty of International Relations of the Kazakh National University named after al-Farabi, senior lecturer Begzhan A.M. and undergraduate student of the 1st year specialty "International Law" Shirinbek A.K. held an educational event "Бірлігі жарасқан Қазақстан" dedicated to the Unity Day of the people of Kazakhstan.

Students of the 1st, 2nd and 3rd courses of the specialty "International Law" took an active part in the event. At the beginning of the festive event, Shirinbek A.K. shared information about the history of the Day of Unity of the People living in Kazakhstan, their settlement to Kazakhstan and their friendly life, the activities of the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan. At the event, the students of the English group of the 2nd year of the specialty "International Law" carefully prepared and showed special involvement. Due to the fact that foreign students study in the English group, the students of this group presented reports and shared interesting facts about culture, literature, national holidays and the values ​​of their nationalities, in particular Afghan, Korean, Chinese, Russian, Turkish nationalities. In addition, international students noted the friendliness and hospitality of the Kazakh people to other nations and expressed gratitude for their studies in a peaceful country. At the end of the event, students shared their thoughts and noted the high level of the event.

As part of the educational event, the students were presented with the social network IT Start-Up Want, the basics of marketing, practical cases from life (studying abroad), ordinary rules for evaluating the effectiveness of advertising, SMM, and the social network. In addition, the topic of volunteerism in Kazakhstan was discussed on the example of "Special Olympics Kazakhstan", its new format, directions and prospects.

At the end of the educational event, the students asked several questions to the guest about marketing and volunteering. At the end of the event, the participants thanked Kenenbayeva Tomiris for the presentation and wished her further success in her endeavors.

On April 22, 2021, at the Department of International Law of the Faculty of International Relations of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, an educational event was held on the topic: "Experience in the study of the phenomenon of "corruption" in foreign countries", organized by teachers Otarbayeva A. B., Baitukayeva D. U., Begzhan A.M., Aryn A. A., Maulen A. A. with the participation of students of the specialty "International Law" and "Jurisprudence" of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University and UIB University. Senior Assistant to the Prosecutor General of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Justice Adviser, Lieutenant Colonel Aitmaganbetov Darkhan Dyusenbekovich was invited as a guest.

During the event, the participants were introduced to the experience of foreign countries in the fight against corruption, as well as measures to prevent it. The meeting discussed the successful experience of such countries as Finland, Denmark, and Singapore, which are an example for other countries in eradicating corruption. Students actively participated in the discussion and demonstrated presentations on this issue. A very interesting report was prepared by Lieutenant Colonel Aitmaganbetov D. D. on measures to prevent corruption, on the level of self-awareness of every citizen and on the policy of intolerance. At the end of the educational event, the results were summed up and relevant conclusions were made on the elimination of corruption in our village.

According to the internship program, which was prepared by the Department of International Law of the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation, undergraduates attended training sessions for ten days: online lectures, practical seminars, master classes, participated in the discussion of the content of dissertations in individual consultations with leading scientists, prepared scientific articles for participation in the international conference Farabi Alemi.

During the internship, undergraduates received access to the electronic resources of the library of the Russian university, educational and methodological materials on the courses studied, and had the opportunity to use the scientific fund to collect additional material on the topics of master's studies.

On the final day of the scientific internship, a joint scientific seminar dedicated to the methodology of research work was held under the guidance of I. M. Lifshits, Doctor of Law, Associate Professor of the Department of International Law, where undergraduates made presentations and discussed the provisions of their master's theses.

As a result of the internship, undergraduates received valuable experience, a wealth of new knowledge, certificates of internship completion and positive feedback from scientific supervisors.

The Department of International Law of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University expresses its gratitude for the excellent and fruitful organization of the scientific internship to the head of the International Department of the Russian Foreign Trade Academy of the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation - I. Due to coronavirus pandemic, online video conferencing tools became especially relevant, for which the unwritten rules of digital etiquette were also presented:

1. Do not be late and insist that other participants do the same
2. Notify the videoconferencing participants about the beginning of the session
3. Maintain eye contact
4. Do not interrupt other speakers
5. Speak in a normal voice (do not shout or whisper) at a normal pace
6. Stick to neutral and muted colors (light blues or pastels) in your clothing to help the camera focus better
7. Avoid intricate patterns on clothes and ties, such as pinstripes or stripes
8. Mute the microphone when sharing comments with neighbors during a break

10. Do not clutter the graphics: Do not overload the information slide, even if you are using a large LCD display, do not put more than 6 lines of text on the slide

11. Use soft pastel colors in your materials, use minimal red only as the main accents throughout your presentation 

On April 15 2021, the educational event on the theme of "Конфликт и пути его решения" was held at the Department of International Law of the faculty of International relations of KazNU named after Al-Farabi. It was organized by 1st year master's student of the specialty «International Law» Seitkanova Malika and Ph.D, associate professor Altayeva K.ZH.

The purpose of the event was to attract students for discussion, to introduce and motivate the methods of conflict resolution.

The event was attended by 2nd year students of the specialty "International Law" and an invited guest Tazhibayev Azamat - advocate of the Almaty City Bar Association.

During the event, such issues as "What is a conflict?", "Types of conflicts", "Stages of conflict development", "Basic strategies of behavior in conflict", as well as "Ways to resolve the conflict", "Positive and negative consequences of the conflict" were actively discussed.

Invited guest Tazhibayev Azamat shared his professional experience and spoke about legal ways to resolve conflicts.

The event was held in the format of a discussion, in which students took an active part.
