At Al-Farabi Kazakh National University a seminar was held on "Information Systems of the Committee on Legal Statistics and Special Accounts of the Office of the Procurator-General of the Republic of Kazakhstan" for students of "International Law" program.

During the event the functionality and features of the Unified Register of Pre-trial Investigation, which contains information about the reasons for initiating a pre-trial investigation, procedural decisions taken on them, actions taken, the movement of criminal proceedings, applicants and participants in the criminal process, were demonstrated. The students were also introduced to the module "Electronic criminal file", designed to maintain the criminal file in electronic format.

Head of the Department of International Law Associate Professor Sayrambayeva Zh.T. and Professor of the Department of International Law Aidarbaev S.Zh. on May 11-12, 2023 took part in the 6th International French-Kazakh-Korean conference “Eurasian legal systems in a world in transition” at Inha University, Republic of Korea. 

On March 16, 2023 Zulfiya Mazhitova Baimagambetova, Deputy Head of the International Law Department for Scientific and Innovative Work and International Cooperation, PhD was awarded with the medal "Yeren enbegi ushin" of Kazakh National University named after Al-Farabi for the contribution to the development of the University by the Order № 128 of the Chairman of the Board-Rector J.K. Tuimebaev.

At the faculty of international relations a round table was held on the topic: International conventions in the field of environmental protection. The event was organized by associate professor Altaeva K.Zh. with the participation of students of the 2nd, 3rd year of the Kazakh and Russian department of the specialty "international law". During the event, issues of the formation and development of international environmental legislation were considered. At the same time, it was noted that a special place is occupied by the issues of sustainable development based on a balanced approach to the economy and the environment.

Students of the International Law educational program took part in the Moscow annual student competition InTAX 2022-2023 on International Taxation. The team consisted of 2nd year Master's student Pirnazarov Kudaiberdi, as well as 3rd year students Lepeshkina Vitalia and Kalelova Aliya.

The Center of European Law of the Department of International Law of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University together with the University of Le Havre (France) held an international scientific and practical conference on the topic: «Legal aspects of cooperation of the Republic of Kazakhstan with the European Union» on February 28, 2023.

The following issues were discussed at the conference: theoretical and practical problems of implementing the development of bilateral relations of the Republic of Kazakhstan with European states and cooperation with the European Union, with the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe, with the Council of Europe and their structures.

3rd year students of the educational program "International Law" became winners of the Annual Republican legal tournament organized by Suleyman Demirel University together with the law firm "Synergy Partners". 

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan awarded a scientist of KazNU Gulmira Amangeldievna Mashimbayeva the medal "30 years of Diplomatic Service". The award was presented to the scientist by the head of the Representative Office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan in Almaty Bakhytzhan Bulegenov.

Gulmira Amangeldievna, Associate Professor of the Department of International Law, Candidate of Law, took an active part in writing the book "Chronology of the Consular Service of the Republic of Kazakhstan", prepared and published by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the diplomatic service.

The book describes the history of the formation of the consular service of independent Kazakhstan and contains historical essays, stories and facts presented by the author's team. Veterans of the diplomatic service, ambassadors and diplomats involved in the creation of the book have made a great contribution to the creation and development of the consular service of our country.

Gulmira Amangeldievna has been working at the Department of International Law for more than 25 years and developed the course "Diplomatic and Consular Law" for students of the specialty "International Law". Moreover, she contributed to the training of personnel for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
