On February 24-25, 2023, the Higher School of Medicine of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University held the International Student Conference "Interdisciplinary Aspects of Orphan Diseases", timed to coincide with the International Day of Rare Diseases and the 5th anniversary of the Higher School of Medicine.The conference discussed issues of epidemiology, the complexity of diagnosis and approaches to the treatment of orphan diseases, atypical manifestations, complications and problems in the treatment of common diseases. The conference participants were students, interns, undergraduates, PhD doctoral students, residents, young scientists (up to 35 years old) from various medical universities in Russia, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, India, Turkey and other countries. At this conference, the senior lecturer of the DFD Kasenova Gulzhan Toktaubekona made a report "Autism as an interdepartmental problem".
