Farabi International Conference of Students and Young Scientists was held at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University from 6 to 9 April 2020 in a remote format. The conference was attended by students, master's students and young scientists up to 35 years of higher education institutions and research institutes of Kazakhstan and foreign countries. Section meetings of the conference were held from April 6 to April 8, 2020, where the reports were heard: theoretical, experimental and applied character in various branches of science. The working languages of the International Conference are Kazakh, Russian and English. 

Al-Farabi KazNU has been taking the necessary measures in order to prevent and protect against the coronavirus infection (COVID-19). Currently, all mass events, business trips of University employees to the countries of near and far abroad have been canceled, academic exchange, internships and the admission of foreign citizens to work and study have been suspended.

Students of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University held a Challenge "Қайырымды kogam", the purpose of which is to make society, as Al-Farabi said, virtuous. The project aims to develop a volunteer movement among young people, strengthening social solidarity and organization of initiative groups to address not only global problems, but also local communities, to help specific people. KazNU students have already joined the Challenge, doing good deeds, they pass the baton to different universities of the country, near and far abroad.

From 25.02.2020 to 27.02.2020, the Department of Artificial intelligence and Big Data hosts seminars of Professor B. E. Reznik from the Boit University of applied Sciences, Berlin, Germany.

   Students of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University held a large flash mob, launching a "good society" Challenge. More than 5 thousand students gathered at the monument to the great thinker Al-Farabi, whose 1150th anniversary is celebrated all over the world under the auspices of UNESCO.

   The official opening ceremony of Al-Farabi's 1150th anniversary took place in the Palace of KazNU students. The State secretary of RK G. Kusherbayev, akim of Almaty B. Sagintaev, state and public figures, representatives of the international organizations of UN, UNESCO, OIC, TURKSOY, etc., diplomatic missions in RK, rectors of higher education institutions, heads of scientific centers and scientific research institutes, foreign and domestic scientists-farabists take part in solemn event devoted to the 1150th anniversary of Al-Farabi. Before the solemn event the guests laid flowers at the al-Farabi monument.
