On April 21, 2022, within the framework of the IX International Student Forum "GREEN BRIDGE THROUGH GENERATIONS", a sectional meeting was held on the topic "MODERN CLIMATE CHANGE: MANIFESTATIONS AND THEIR CONSEQUENCES". The participants of the youth forum, who worked in the section “Modern climate change: manifestation and consequences”, focused on climate change in the context of the implementation of the “17 UN Sustainable Development Goals”, and support for the efforts of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan K.K. Tokayev on solving environmental challenges for the Republic of Kazakhstan.

          A significant number of participants participated in the work of the section. At the meeting of the section, 6 reports were heard and discussed on various topics, including hydrology, ecology, emergency situations and climate change. The best speakers were awarded diplomas of 1-3 degrees, and the rest of the participants were awarded certificates.

          Following the results of the event, the section participants emphasize that climate change and its study and research play an important role in understanding natural patterns and the future of the planet, being a meaningful and conceptual core for the sustainable development of society as a whole and a strategic resource for innovative development of Kazakhstan.

          Also, the section participants noted the leading role of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University in the system of climate education in Kazakhstan and the importance of taking into account climatic, meteorological and hydrological features, based on evidence-based research and taking into account current global and regional trends and, of course, the relevance of further study of climate change.

          In addition, the section participants consider it necessary to develop real steps to implement the "17 UN Sustainable Development Goals" and support the efforts of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan K.K. Tokayev on solving environmental challenges for the Republic of Kazakhstan.
