According to UNESCO, due to restrictions imposed on the spread of coronavirus, more than 1.5 billion children and adults around the world do not attend schools and universities. More than 160 countries have taken measures throughout their territory, affecting more than 87% of the global student population. Other countries have implemented local closures of schools and educational institutions. The quarantine associated with the COVID-19 pandemic is the first in the history of Kazakhstan in its scale.
During my career in various companies, I often remotely discussed various issues: I participated in seminars, negotiations with colleagues on Skype and WhatApp, once in the Space Flight Control Center I talked on radio communications with our astronaut aboard the ISS Aydin Aimbetov.
Digital Kazakhstan is a future in which every citizen of the country uses their smartphone/computer to perform many important actions. And at the same time, it does not spend the most valuable resources – time and energy. This future has already begun today. In my turn, as a novice teacher at one of the country's leading universities, I am convinced of this by using modern technologies in the process of distance learning.

Master and PhD students in Hydrology of the Department of Meteorology and Hydrology were trained in one of the leading scientific centres of China at the Institute of Aerospace Research (AIR CAS) of the Chinese Academy of Sciences in Beijing from November 23 to December 2 in 2019.
On December 3, 2019, Young scientists and Doctoral Students of the Department of Meteorology and Hydrology took part in a coordination meeting of participants in the U-Inspire Central Asia (DACRYN) youth Disaster Risk Reduction network. During the meeting, reports were presented on promoting youth development in science for DRR and the activities of DACRYN in Central Asia. The Summer Camps project was also developed for mudflows, landslides, droughts and earthquake response.
The VIII international scientific-practical conference «Modern Problems in Tourism Sector Development» was held at the conference hall of the library of Al-Farabi KazNU. The event was organized by the Department of Recreational Geography and Tourism of the Faculty of Geography and Nature Management of Al-Farabi KazNU.
28/11/2019 at 15:00, in the BAZ 1 hall, a leadership meeting was held with Ukashev Jergalbek Isakeevich - Director of the Center for Emergencies and Disaster Risk Reduction international organization. During the meeting, issues of providing effective mechanisms for mitigating the risks of emergency situations and reducing their consequences were highlighted. Ukashev Dzhergalbek Isakeevich invited our students to work. We hope in the future we will work together fruitfully.
Within the framework of the program “Ainalagdy Nurlandyr”, tutors of the UNESCO Department on Sustainable Development and activists of the Nevada-Semey youth organization of KazNU visited the State Academic Theater for Children and Youth named after G. Musrepova, in which the performance " Voice of the soul " was dedicated to the problems of the Semipalatinsk test site.
