On April 20-25, 2020, teachers and foreign students of the Department of language and General education of foreigners of the Faculty of pre-University education supported the challenge "What book do you read?". Students told what books they were interested in reading during the quarantine period.

On April 24, 2020, teachers of the Department of language and General education of foreigners of the Faculty of pre-University education held an open educational event in the online format "Сoronavirus in South Korea" within the framework of the project "Cult of a healthy body" for foreign students. During the event, Korean students told about the situation with coronavirus in South Korea.

On April 20-23, 2020, teachers of the Department of Language and General educational of foreigners of Faculty of Pre-University Education held the traditional annual Olympiad in Russian as a foreign language in an online format. Foreign students took an active part in the program with great interest and tried their hand at Russian language skills.

On April 14, 2020, teachers of the Department of language and General education of foreigners of the Faculty of pre-University education held an open curatorial hour "Theatrical art of Kazakhstan" in the framework of the project "Айналаңды нұрландыр " in online format. During the event, the teachers told about the Abay Opera and ballet Theater, and also viewed fragments of the ballet "Bakhchisarai fountain" together with the students.

The "rukhani zhangyru" program was offered to the modern Kazakh society in 2017. Leader of the nation N. A. Nazarbayev in his article "Looking to the future: modernization of public consciousness"

he aimed modern youth at preserving the national values of Kazakhstan, awareness of spiritual identity and development of these values for integration into the modern world.

            For three years, teachers of the Department of language and General education of foreigners of al-Farabi KazNU have done a lot of work to implement this program.

            Foreign students from all over the world study at the faculty of pre-University education of KazNU. They study Kazakh and Russian languages. Students do not randomly choose the al-Farabi Kazakh national University. They know that here they can get a high-quality higher education, which is the Foundation for modernizing modern society. The faculty is very interested in country studies lessons, where students learn about the history of Kazakhstan, sights, spiritual values and traditions of Kazakhs and other peoples living in Kazakhstan.

            The traditional celebration of Nauryz is held with great interest, where students can hear Kazakh songs, try Kazakh national dishes at the festive dastarkhan, participate in traditional competitions. Many foreign students study play the dombra and enjoy taking part in concerts.

            Interest in the Kazakh language has increased. Teachers of the Department teach the Kazakh language using modern intensive methods. The Department has very good results. For 1 year, students achieve excellent results, master the Kazakh language, while learning Russian.

            Teachers of the Department prepared a textbook of the Kazakh language, methodological materials and manuals on the Kazakh and Russian languages.

Switching to the Latin alphabet of the Kazakh language will facilitate its perception for foreign students. But this is a very thorough and painstaking work that requires professionalism.

On April 14, 2020, teachers of the Department of language and General education of foreigners of the faculty of pre-University education held an open curatorial hour "Theatrical art of Kazakhstan: Abay Opera and ballet theater" within the framework of the project "100 кітап" in online format. During the event, teachers told about the history of the formation of theatrical art in Kazakhstan.

Modern Kazakhstan is a tolerant state that maintains economic, cultural, and friendly relations with many countries. A priority role in modern society is played by quality education, which is received not only by the youth of Kazakhstan, but also by foreign students studying at the al-Farabi Kazakh national University.

            Elbasy оf Kazakhstan N. A. Nazarbayev in his program article "Looking to the future: modernization of public consciousness" focused on the formation of a new worldview, on the preservation and development of the country's scientific potential.

            Teachers of the Department conduct research on the problems of KAZKI and RKI. They publish the results of their research in the journals Scopus and CCSON. The work of the Department is carried out in different directions. Scientific, educational and methodological work is combined with the educational work of students. Foreign students of the FDO of al-Farabi KazNU participate in the scientific work of the Department. They prepare reports for the annual student scientific conference in Kazakh, Russian and English. In 2020, the conference was successfully held Online.

            Teachers of the Department conduct excursions, curatorial hours, concerts, conversations that allow foreign students to learn about Kazakhstan, feel its identity, tolerance, and love the country. Students return to their home countries after their studies and popularize Kazakhstan among the youth of other countries, telling about historical events, achievements and successes of Kazakhstan.

During the event, teachers told about the history of space exploration.

On April 11, 2020, teachers of the Department of language and General education of foreigners of the faculty of pre-University education held an open curatorial hour "al-Farabi is the Teacher of the East" in the framework of the project "Айналаңды нұрландыр" in online format. During the event, teachers introduced foreign students to the main stages of al-Farabi's biography and focused on the significance of his works for the present.

On April 11, 2020, teachers of the Department of language and General education of foreigners of the faculty of pre-University education held an open curatorial event "Musical culture of the Kazakh people" in the framework of the project "Айналаңды нұрландыр" in online format. During the event, students got acquainted with the most striking examples of musical culture of the Kazakh people.
