The final academic week of the 1st semester of the 2020-2021 academic year has begun. On the occasion of the independence Day of the Republic of Kazakhstan, curators-advisors of the Department of language and General education training of foreigners held thematic curatorial hours. One of them, called "Almaty - the cradle of independence", was held on December 15 in a group where foreign students from China, Afghanistan and Syria study. Students learned about why and how Kazakhstan celebrates independence Day on December 16-17.
One of the traditional educational events held with students of the Department of language and General education of foreigners is a curatorial hour dedicated to the Independence Day of the Republic of Kazakhstan. During the event, foreign students will learn about the main milestones of the formation of an independent state. need to emphasize that information about our country is perceived by foreign citizens with great interest: they want to know as much as possible about Kazakhstan. The heads of the Center for educational work "History and Culture of the Region", working at the department, together with the curators of study groups, held an online round table "The Republic of Kazakhstan – an independent state" on December 15, 2020.
On December 11, 2020, teachers of the Department of Language and General Education of Foreigners of the Faculty of Pre-University Education and the "Club of Russian Literature Lovers" held an online event on the topic "What a beauty these fairy tales are!"
During this lesson, students firstly got acquainted with the creative biography of A.S. Pushkin, and for the analysis was chosen "The Tale of the Fisherman and the Fish". A colorful presentation was shown, then a conversation was held, during which the foreign listeners made the right conclusion: you cannot be a greedy person, you need to be grateful for everything and be happy with what you have. Otherwise, you can even lose what you have. For a better perception, the students watched an animated film based on this fairy tale by A.S. Pushkin. Reading Pushkin's tales is interesting! The purpose of this event: to introduce foreign listeners to the work of the great poet, to awaken interest in Russian culture. Practice has shown that fairy tales are an effective means of upbringing and education; without using the potential of Russian fairy tales, the cultural adaptation of foreign listeners will be difficult. Therefore, the Literature Lovers Club will definitely continue its work.
Traditionally, at the beginning of December, the Department of language and General education of foreigners hosts an open day as part of the "Festival of languages and cultures". This year the event was dedicated to the 35th anniversary of the Department and at the behest of time was held in an online format. This is an international educational event. In addition to students and lecturers at the open Day was attended by official guests: First Vice-rector of al-Farabi Kazakh national University M.Burkitbaev, Consul for science and technology of the Consulate General of PRC in RK Mi Guison, counselor on trade and economic relations of the Consulate General of Hungary derd Tar, Director of the Department on educational work of al-Farabi Kazakh national University J.Yessimova, the Director of the Department of image policy and public relations al-Farabi Kazakh national University D.Dussebaev, representatives of the Department of foreign languages Lanzhou University (China), representatives of the Confucius Institute at al-Farabi Kazakh national University, heads of foreign companies operating in Kazakhstan. During the event, official guests, graduates of the Department made speeches and congratulated teachers and students on the anniversary of the Department. A friendly warm greeting was received in Kazakh from graduates of the Moscow linguistic University. Students who are currently teaching at the Department demonstrated their talents by reading poems and singing songs.
On December 1, Kazakhstan celebrates the Day of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Since 2012, on this day, cultural events are held throughout Kazakhstan, the main goal of which is to strengthen peace and harmony in the country. At the Department of language and General education training of foreigners, curators-advisors, as well as heads of clubs for educational work in all groups traditionally hold events dedicated to this date. Despite online training, this year was no exception. Foreign students learned a lot about the personality of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, about his role in the formation of independent Kazakhstan.
On November 30, on the eve of the day of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan celebrated in Kazakhstan since 2012, curators and advisors of the Department of language and General education of foreigners held an educational event for students studying the Kazakh language. During the event, young people from abroad learned about the main facts of Elbasy's life, the country's achievements during his presidency, as well as how Kazakhstan perpetuates the name of Nursultan Nazarbayev by assigning it to various objects. Foreign students had the opportunity to ask their questions, which were fully answered.
The educational club "Kazakhstan Studies" has been working at the Department of language and General education training of foreigners for several years. The club's supervisors, together with curators-advisors, regularly hold educational events for foreign students. The next event was held on the theme "State holidays of the Republic of Kazakhstan". Information about our country is always perceived with great interest by students studying at the Department. This academic year, despite the online format of training, teachers provide their students with interesting information about the life of the country. All this helps foreign students in the process of mastering the Kazakh and Russian languages and significantly expands their horizons.
Foreign students are well aware of the personality of the First President of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev. Teachers of the Department of language and General education training of foreigners on the eve of the first President's Day hold curatorial events on this topic that have already become traditional. At the next educational event, teachers told about the history of the holiday, which is celebrated in Kazakhstan on December 1. The mentors especially focused on the role of N.A.Nazarbayev in the formation and development of independent Kazakhstan. During the event, foreign citizens had the opportunity to ask questions on the topic.
Students from different countries of the world not only study Russian and Kazakh languages at the Department of language and General education of foreigners. From the first months of study, teachers introduce their students to poems in the language of instruction. Of course, these are simple nursery rhymes! But how diligently students pronounce simple phrases!!! Before coming to a result, when students tell their first verse, teachers have to work through every word, every line thoroughly! But the work is worth it!!!
