On November 19, the Egyptian University of Islamic culture Nur-Mubarak hosted the XII Republican Olympiad on religion and theology for 2019-2020 among students of higher educational institutions of the Republic of Kazakhstan through the «Zoom» platform in an online format. The competition was attended by the team of Al-Farabi KazNU "UNIVERSITY. 4. 0." composed of students of the specialty " Religious studies "(A. Berdibek, A. Oralkul, M. Usyphan). The group of students of KazNU was led by the senior lecturer of the Department of Religious and Cultural Studies E. Askenuly.

The competition was also attended by teams from the Egyptian University of Islamic culture Nur-Mubarak, the L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian national University, the K.A. Yassaui International Kazakh-Turkish University, the Abay Kazakh national pedagogical University, and The E. Buketov Karaganda state University.

At the 1st stage of the Republican Olympiad, as part of the task «group project» on the topic: «Direction of state policy in matters of religious tolerance in the Republic of Kazakhstan: (problems and solutions)», KazNU students conducted a study «The level of religious tolerance among the youth of Kazakhstan», where they summarized projects with specific data and proposals. KazNU students differed from their opponents in the relevance of their research projects in accordance with modern requirements. In the second round of the republican Olympiad individual tested theoretical knowledge of the participants of the Olympiad. In this round, KazNU students showed the best result. Student of KazNU A. Orakul took first place, M. Uisypkhan and A. Berdibek took the third place. The third stage of the competition was dedicated to the theme «Kara soz - Kazakymnyk Kazynasy» and the students told about wise thoughts in the Words of Edification of Khakim Abay. At the end of the competition, D.Kenzhetai - the chairman of the jury of the subject olympiad in religious studies and theology made a speech, also said that due to the high results of KazNU students at this Olympiad, the 2021 student Olympiad will be held at the al-Farabi Kazakh national University. For students of KazNU, this olympiad was of great scientific and educational significance.
