RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN RELIGION AND PHILOSOPHY IN AL-FARABI'S STUDIES

 

May 12, 2020 at 16.00 as part of the "Al-Farabi Heritage" project by the Department of Religious Studies and Cultural Studies of the Faculty of Philosophy and Political Science of KazNU named after Al-Farabi Khumarkhan Zhanbolat, a first-year doctoral student in Islamic studies and a researcher at the Al-Farabi Center, held a webinar on "Islamic analysis of the relationship between religion and philosophy in Al-Farabi's teachings" on the Microsoft Teams platform.

The webinar analyzed the religion, the prophet, the deity and the topics raised in Al-Farabi's legacy, based on Islamic terms and Arabic terms used in the works of the scholar. It was noted that in terms of the relationship between religion and philosophy, the prophet and the philosopher, theology and philosophical teachings and the classification of sciences, it is necessary to pay attention to their place, priority and specificity.

The webinar was attended by the director of the Al-Farabi Center, Ph.D. B.B. Meirbayev, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Philosophy and Political Science, Candidate of Philological Sciences, Associate Professor A.O. Omirbekova, Head of the Department of Religious and Cultural Studies, Doctor of Philology, Professor A.D. Kurmanalieva, members of the Academic Council of the Department of Religious and Cultural Studies, as well as doctoral and MA students.

During the webinar, professors of the department Nagima Zhaulybayevna and Karlygash Moldagalievna asked questions and expressed their views on the topic.
