31 January 2020 an Agreement on Cooperation between Al-Farabi Kazakh National University and the Department of Religious Affairs of Zhambyl region has been signed, the subject of which is the opening of a branch of the Department of Religious and Cultural Studies. The agreement has been signed by the Head of the Department for Religious Affairs of Zhambyl region Zhangeldy Omarov, Head of the Center for the Study of religions in Zhambyl region Kenzhegul Gulkeeva, Dean of the Faculty of Philosophy and Political Science, Professor Aliya Massalimova, Head of the Department of Religious and Cultural Studies Ainur Kurmanaliyeva. The signing ceremony was also attended by the Head of the Division in the Department of Religious Affairs of the Zhambyl region Yerkebulan Akbay, the teaching staff of the Department of Religious and Cultural Studies, students majoring in Religious studies.

“I congratulate on this significant event, as well as on the 1150th anniversary the scientist and philosopher Abu Nasr Al-Farabi. Cooperation in the field of educational activities is developing very well between our parties. The Department of Religious and Cultural studies makes a huge contribution to the training of qualified specialists for the Department of Religious Affairs of the Akimat of Zhambyl region. Within the framework of cooperation, we will conduct joint research and projects, improve the skills of employees, internships and practices based on the principles of mutual respect, equality, institutional independence and mutual benefit,» said Zhangeldy Omarov, Head of the Department for Religious Affairs of the Zhambyl region.

Under the signed agreement the parties will cooperate in the field of education, training, mutual exchange and joint research; develop and implement joint educational programs in the framework of the dual training; consultations, classes, lectures and other forms of educational work of the Department for Religious Affairs of Zhambyl region; carry out targeted training of young professionals in the magistracy at the request of the Department for Religious Affairs of Zhambyl region; to improve the skills of employees at the Institute for advanced training of Al-Farabi KazNU; to provide each other with advisory, methodological assistance; to participate in the joint publication of collections, educational and scientific works.
