International Conference «Memorial Musical Instruments: Scientific Research, Collection and Popularization»

On February 4, the International Scientific and Practical Conference “Memorial Musical Instruments: Research, Collection and Popularization” was held at the Museum of National Musical Instruments named after Yhlas.

At this conference, special attention was paid to collecting, researching and popularizing memorial musical instruments, as well as studying the life and work of people who contributed to the development of Kazakh art, and at the same time, attention was paid to the history of how these musical instruments turned out to be in museums.

The conference was attended by regional and district museums of Kazakhstan, ethnographic centres, employees and specialists of higher educational institutions, art historians, musicologists, cultural figures, as well as Sergazy Kudaibergenov, who is a doctoral student of the Kazakh National University named after Al-Farabi.

A collection of articles of the International Scientific and Practical Conference was also compiled, and on the basis of the collected articles the book named "Memorial Musical Instruments: Research, Collection and Popularization" was published. This collection book includes works of cultural figures, researchers and experts in musical instruments, experts of the national museum and researchers from Russia, Tuva, Sakha, Uzbekistan.

The purpose of the scientific-practical conference is to attract researchers and scholars in the field of art history, musicology, research of musical instruments, as well as the involvement of skilled craftsmen in the manufacture of musical instruments in museum work, together with museum experts.

This book also calls for the discovery of the history of our valuable musical heritage, stored in the regional museums, archaeological and instrumental music, their regional characteristics, comprehensive research into the knowledge of musical instruments and studying the role of personalities who knew this musical instrument very well and their originality.

In addition, the restoration of musical instruments, their popularization will contribute to the formation of research specialists in the field of museology.
