"Youth scorched by Afghan" exhibition-meeting dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the withdrawal of Soviet troops from Afghanistan

February 12, 2019 in the Museum of Almaty was held an exhibition-meeting "Youth, scorched by Afghan".

The event was attended by PhD doctoral students of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, Faculty of Philosophy and Political Science, the Department of Religious Studies and Cultural Studies, Kudaibergenov Sergazy, Mukatayeva Saltanat, Akhmetzhanov Dastan.

30 years from the date of the withdrawal of a limited contingent of Soviet troops from Afghanistan, this year. This war lasted for 9 years, 2 months and 15 days. And it cost the lives of almost 15 thousand Soviet soldiers.

International duty, as they said then, is fulfilled. The event was attended by members of the Public Association "Union of Veterans of Afghanistan" in Almaty: Major General of Aviation, commander of a separate helicopter combat regiment, holder of two orders of the "Red Star" and the Order of «Service to the Motherland», 3rd degree Nurgaliyev Turar Sapargalievich, Chairman of the Coordinating Council of public associations of veterans and disabled people of the war in Afghanistan and other local military conflicts, Abdushukurov Murat Mukhtarovich, an internationalist warrior, veteran of the war in Afghanistan, honored cultural worker Alimkulov Yerlikbai Bessatovich.

Students and doctoral students put questions to veterans of the Afghan war. The combatants answered questions and shared memories.

During the event, a documentary film from the fund of the Central State Archive of film-photographic documents and sound recordings of the RK “From Kapchagai to Kabul” was shown, “Afghan” songs were performed. The event was continued by the exhibition "Youth scorched by Afghan."
